Mapa Professional Ultranitril 492 Nitrile Chemical Gloves
Description
A thin green nitrile glove for frequent chemical contact
Mapa Ultranitril 492 is a flock-lined nitrile glove that Mapa Professional positions for frequent contact with intermittent wear. The sheet describes good mechanical resistance and long-lasting chemical protection. The anatomical shape and the flock lining are credited for dexterity and comfort, and the nitrile is stated to give excellent abrasion and perforation resistance.
It is a Category 3 glove with EN ISO 374-1 Type A, the highest chemical type, with letters A, J, K, O, P and T printed. It also carries EN ISO 374-5 with protection against bacteria, fungi and virus, and the ISO 18889 mark G2 for diluted and concentrated pesticides with mechanical risk. Length is 32 cm, thickness 0.38 mm, in green.

How to read the Ultranitril 492 markings
Type A in EN ISO 374-1 means at least permeation level 2 (30 minutes) against at least six listed chemicals (general standard information); this glove lists six. Level 2 is a minimum, so for long immersion ask Mapa for the breakthrough times. The sheet places 492 in the frequent contact, intermittent wear class, not continuous immersion.
The EN 388 code 3101X gives abrasion 3, cut 1, tear 0 and puncture 1 (code structure from EN 388). The zero in tear means the glove can tear easily, so avoid snags. Pick the size from 6 to 11, and state the packaging you need: single pair bags, 10 pairs per bag or 100 pairs per carton.
Handling and limits
The flocked interior absorbs sweat and eases donning. After contact with a chemical, rinse and dry the glove before removing it and discard it if it swells, hardens or becomes tacky. Do not reuse a glove that has contacted a chemical outside the tested list.
The sheet reports surface resistance of 6.4E+10 ohm and vertical resistance of 5.8E+9 ohm measured in the palm area at 25% relative humidity. These are test values only; for use in explosive atmospheres check your site rules, as the sheet does not claim ATEX approval.
Where it is used
Mapa lists agriculture, construction (carpenters and joiners), the automotive industry, metallurgy and local authorities (cleaning, parks and public spaces). Tasks listed include spray mixture preparation, tank filling, pesticide handling and waste management, treatment equipment cleaning, preparing coatings and varnishes, handling PVC-based glues, degreasing metals with aggressive solvents and machining with cutting oil. Plant maintenance and coating shops in the region share many of these tasks.
Selection and care notes
Chemical gloves must be selected from the chemicals actually handled. The letters printed after the EN ISO 374-1 type show which test chemicals reached the stated protection level, so compare them with the safety data sheets. Check for pinholes before use, rinse and dry after use and replace the glove after any contact with a substance it is not listed for.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full glove code, the size range, the quantity in pairs, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and the hazards the glove must cover, so that the complete supply can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Standards, performance levels and sizes are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and construction projects.
