Uvex C500 6049706 Cut Level C HPPE Safety Gloves
Description
The Uvex C500 6049706 is an uncoated cut protection glove with a knitted cuff, made with the patented uvex Bamboo TwinFlex technology from bamboo viscose, high-performance polyethylene (HPPE), fibreglass and polyamide. It is lime coloured, 25 cm long, silicone-free according to the imprint test and certified to EN 388:2016 as 1 X 4 X C, where C is cut level for the ISO 13997 test.
The glove is meant for handling sharp parts in dry conditions: sheet metal, gaskets, cable trimming, packaging, glass and fabrication. Because it has no coating, the datasheet lists it as suitable for dry work environments only, and the page says it offers excellent grip in dry environments.

Key features from the datasheet
The datasheet lists an ergonomic fit, excellent abrasion resistance and very good tactile feel. The page adds a very high cut protection level, described as level 5/C, high flexibility, breathability from uvex climazone, and a glove free of harmful substances under OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The silicone-free finish suits painting and finishing lines and electronics, where silicone contaminates surfaces.
How to read EN 388 1X4XC
The numbers read abrasion 1, blade cut not tested (X), tear 4, puncture not tested (X) and the final letter C for cut resistance by ISO 13997. Cut resistance letters run from A (lowest) to F (highest) on the ISO 13997 scale, so C is a middle level; uvex describes the glove as level 5/C, the older numeric wording used on its page. The glove is not rated for puncture, and a hypodermic needle or a sharp point can go through textile gloves. Use the right level for your risk assessment.
Selection and ordering guide
Quote 6049706 and state the size. The uncoated lime C500 is the right choice for dry handling; for oily or wet sharp materials, choose a coated cut glove instead. The uvex phynomic pro (6006206) offers grip in wet conditions but only cut level 1.
Applications in GCC industry
Use cases include metal fabrication shops handling plate and sheet, cable and conduit work, insulation and cladding installation, glass handling and general maintenance. The breathable climazone knit helps in hot work areas; the glove is not heat or flame protective, so do not use it for hot surfaces or hot work.
Care and use
Inspect for cuts and snags before each use, wash according to the label and replace once the fibres are worn or contaminated. A cut-resistant glove protects against the slicing action of a blade; it does not make the hand immune to crushing, impact or puncture, so keep guards and safe handling rules in place. Keep the CE declaration of conformity on file with the issue record for the wearer.
Before issuing the glove, check the size range in the datasheet against your workforce, since the datasheet lists sizes 6 to 11 while the product page text says 7 to 11. The glove is sold by the pair, is 25 cm long and is made in Germany under the uvex quality seal, so state the size and the number of pairs in the quotation request.
Selection and use notes
The glove is uncoated, so it gives cut protection but little grip in oily or wet conditions. Check the marking against the task, choose the size with a close fit and wash as the label allows. Replace the gloves when the liner is cut or worn.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
