WIKA CS6S Universal Panel Temperature Controller
Description
WIKA CS6S universal temperature controller for panel mounting, with CS6H and CS6L
The WIKA CS6S is a compact universal controller for panel mounting that displays, controls and monitors temperature. It belongs to the CS6x series, which comprises three case sizes: the CS6S (48 x 48 mm front), the CS6H (96 x 48 mm) and the CS6L (96 x 96 mm), all with the same functions. The controllers have one multi-function input for Pt100 resistance thermometers, thermocouples and standard industrial signals, and a control output that can be relay, logic level for solid state relays, or 4 … 20 mA. Seven Star LLC supplies the CS6S in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat, and this page explains the inputs, outputs and options so that an RFQ can specify them correctly.
What the CS6S controls and how it is configured
The controller compares the measured value with a set point and drives the monitoring output. WIKA lists configurable control modes PID, PI, PD, P and ON/OFF, with integrated auto-tuning that finds good control parameters for PID control. The proportional band, integral time (0 to 3,600 s), derivative time (0 to 1,800 s) and cycle time (1 to 120 s) can be set over wide ranges. An alarm output for monitoring the actual value is standard, with 24 alarm types to choose from, plus hysteresis and time delay. The actual value appears in a five-digit red 7-segment LED and the set point in a five-digit green one, with an indication range of -2,000 to 10,000.
Because the input is multi-function, the sensor type is chosen by terminal connection and menu programming, which makes warehousing easier: one device covers many sensors. The monitoring output can be a relay for slow control, a logic level to drive an electronic solid state relay (SSR) for fast control and high current loads, or a continuous 4 … 20 mA signal.

Options, serial interface and special functions of the CS6S
Optional functions listed include a second alarm output (EV2), a heater burnout alarm that monitors the heating current through a current transformer (included, rated 20 A or 100 A, to be specified at order), a second monitoring output for 3-point control with an overlap or dead band between -200 and +200 °C, and a set point input with parameter memory for set points SV1 to SV4. For 3-point (heating and cooling) control the cooling mode can be selected as air, oil (1.5 times the slope) or water (2 times). An RS-485 serial interface is possible with selectable baud rates of 9,600, 19,200 or 38,400 bit/s, and an isolated DC 24 V, 30 mA output is available.
Input resistance limits matter for sensor wiring: Pt100 leads up to 10 Ω each, thermocouples up to 100 Ω external resistance (40 Ω for type B), and standard signal input impedances of 50 Ω for current, above 1 MΩ for 0 … 1 V and above 100 kΩ for the other voltage ranges.
Where the CS6S fits and related WIKA products
The CS6x is a classic panel controller for heating applications such as ovens, furnaces, extruders, heat-treatment baths and ventilation. It pairs naturally with WIKA resistance thermometers and thermocouples such as the TR10, TR33 and TC10-B, which supply its multi-function input, and with solid state relays on the logic output. For calibration of the loop use a dry-well calibrator such as the CTD9100 and a reference thermometer such as the CTR2000. The controller itself does not measure pressure; for pressure control one would use a transmitter such as the S-20 with a 4 … 20 mA input, which this controller accepts.
Selection and ordering checklist for the CS6S
- Case size: CS6S (48 x 48), CS6H (96 x 48) or CS6L (96 x 96), matched to the panel cut-out.
- Input sensor: Pt100, thermocouple type or standard signal, and its range.
- Monitoring output 1 type: relay, logic level or 4 … 20 mA.
- Supply: AC 100 … 240 V or AC/DC 24 V.
- Options: second alarm, heater burnout (20 A or 100 A CT), second output, set point input, RS-485.
- Number of control loops and whether heating only or heating and cooling.
- Quantity and delivery site.
Installation and commissioning of the CS6S
Cut the panel to the case size and fix the unit with the screw brackets, which suit wall thicknesses from 1 to 15 mm. The front is IP66 but the rear is IP00, so the terminals must be inside a protected cabinet. Wire the sensor by the terminal pattern for its type, select the input type in the menu, scale standard signals, and run auto-tuning with the load connected. Observe the relay rating when switching loads directly; for high currents use the logic output with a solid state relay. Check the ambient inside the cabinet stays within 0 to 50 °C, which can be tight in hot Gulf cabinets without ventilation.
Typical applications in Oman and the GCC
The data sheet names plant and industrial furnace construction, process engineering, plastics technology and processing, ventilation and air-conditioning, and general industrial applications. In Oman and the Gulf, the CS6x suits skid heaters, heat-tracing panels, dosing tank heaters, laboratory ovens and workshop test equipment, where a low-cost reliable loop controller is preferable to a PLC.

About brand
WIKA is the German manufacturer of pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments, best known for its pressure gauges. Alexander Wiegand and Philipp Kachel founded it on 2 January 1946 in Klingenberg am Main, Bavaria. The name comes from the first two letters of their surnames. WIKA is still run by the Wiegand family and is headquartered in Klingenberg.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list WIKA pressure gauges, diaphragm seals, transmitters, switches, thermometers and thermowells, and supply them to plants, contractors and panel builders in Oman and the GCC by model and order code.

The WIKA model number tells you the build. In 232.50, the first digit 2 means stainless steel wetted parts, the second digit 3 means a liquid-fillable case, and ".50" is the case style. The 111 series uses copper alloy wetted parts and suits water and air. Where the medium is corrosive, very hot or would block the gauge, a diaphragm seal such as the 990.27 keeps it away from the Bourdon tube. For temperature, a thermowell like the TW10 lets you remove the sensor without opening the process.
Where WIKA instruments are used
In Oman and the GCC, WIKA gauges, transmitters and thermometers are used in oil and gas, refining and petrochemical plants, power and desalination, water networks, district cooling and HVAC, and on skids and machines from OEMs.
Ordering WIKA instruments: what we need
Send the model, dial size (for example 63, 100 or 160 mm), range and unit, connection size and position (lower or back mount), accuracy class and whether liquid filling is needed. For diaphragm seals and thermowells, add the process connection, materials and insertion length.
