Hilti PM 2-LG Green Line Laser Level

Description

The Hilti PM 2-LG is a green line laser with two high-visibility beams, one horizontal and one vertical, for levelling and aligning in interior fit-out. It is self-levelling within plus or minus 4 degrees in 3 seconds, and Hilti states that its green beam is four times easier to see than a red laser indoors, which allows longer working distances without relocating.

Aligning studwork, ceilings, pipes and openings

Hilti lists aligning plasterboard studwork and track, levelling suspended ceilings, levelling and aligning pipes and cables, aligning doors and windows, and transferring heights. A single button switches between vertical, horizontal and cross lines and another activates the receiver mode. A slope mode locks the pendulum so the line can be used at any angle, for which Hilti recommends the optional PMA 93 crab clamp. A low battery alert warns before the unit stops, and the compact housing has rubber bumpers.

Using the line laser on site

The manual describes LED and beam flashing codes: five flashes then a permanent beam means automatic power-off has been disabled or receiver mode toggled; high-frequency flashing means the tool cannot level itself; a beam flashing every 2 seconds shows the inclined line mode with the pendulum locked. Hilti states that operating distance can be significantly affected by site conditions, so a laser receiver and tripod are used for larger rooms. Hilti lists the PMA 20 tripod, PMA 32 receiver, PMA 90 magnetic wall mount and PRA 54 target plate as related accessories.

Selection and ordering checks

Confirm the line pattern needed, the working distance with or without a receiver, the batteries (not all markets ship with batteries, per the manual), and the accessories such as tripod, receiver and clamp. For a three-plane 360 degree laser compare the PM 50MG-22, and for site levelling and slopes compare the PR 40-22 rotating laser. Check the Hilti page for the current item number and kit.

About brand

Hilti is the Liechtenstein construction technology company for fastening, anchoring, firestop, installation and power tool systems. The brothers Martin and Eugen Hilti opened a small mechanical workshop in Schaan, Liechtenstein, in 1941, and the company turned to fastening technology after Martin Hilti acquired a fastening patent in 1948. Hilti is still headquartered in Schaan and controlled by the Martin Hilti Family Trust, created in 1980.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Hilti power tools and firestop products, each with the manufacturer operating instructions, for contractors and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.
