Brand: Hilti
Hilti CP 606 Firestop Acrylic Sealant (CFS-S ACR)
Description
The Hilti CP 606 (also sold as CFS-S ACR) is a water-based acrylic firestop sealant used to restore fire-rated joints and to seal through penetrations such as cable trays and metal pipes. Hilti describes it as a universal fire caulk for concrete, masonry and drywall, and calls it a flexible firestop seal that helps prevent the passage of fire, smoke and toxic fumes.
Passive fire protection for joints and penetrations
Hilti lists sealing rigid or low-movement ceiling and wall joints from 6 to 30 mm wide, sealing cable tray penetrations and metal pipe penetrations, and use in masonry, concrete, plasterboard and metal. The product page adds acoustic insulation, electrical resistance, mould and mildew resistance, smoke and gas tightness, water tightness, paintability and a “Suitable for LAR” note. It carries the CE mark under an ETA and a cULus classification mark.
European Technical Assessment ETA-10/0389 (OIB Vienna, 2023-07-17, replacing the 2017 issue) covers the sealant as a linear joint and gap seal with mineral wool, Hilti firestop round cord CFS-CO or combustible backfill. Its intended use is to reinstate the fire resistance of flexible and rigid walls, rigid floors, timber walls and floors and steel constructions at linear gaps. The assessed classifications run from EI 30 to EI 180 depending on construction, joint width, depth and backfill.

Use and installation notes
The Hilti instruction sheet shows joint and penetration seal steps and a 2 hour reference at 23 deg C and 50 percent relative humidity before the next step. Fire ratings apply to the tested constructions only: the ETA lists joint widths, depths, compression, orientation and backfill for each classification, so the assembly must match an assessed detail. Sealants are applied to clean, dry, load-free surfaces with the specified backfill, and the sealed joint should be recorded for inspection.
Selection and ordering checks
Confirm the construction type, joint width and depth, backfill, required fire resistance period, colour and the pack format before ordering, and ask for the approval document that matches the project jurisdiction. For other Hilti firestop products such as silicone sealant CP 601S, collars, wraps, putty and cable transit systems, see the Hilti firestop range.
