Brand: Hilti
Hilti CP 601S Firestop Silicone Sealant (CFS-S SIL)
Description
The Hilti CP 601S (also sold as CFS-S SIL) is a silicone-based firestop sealant for fire-rated joints and pipe penetrations where high movement is expected. Hilti describes it as providing maximum movement in fire-rated joints, and lists expansion or stretched connection joints in fire compartment walls and floors, uninsulated metal pipes through compartment walls and floors, and acoustic insulation of pipes.
Silicone firestop for moving joints and metal pipe penetrations
A silicone sealant is chosen over an acrylic grade where the joint moves in service. The Hilti product page lists masonry, metal, concrete and gypsum as base materials and describes the sealant as smoke-, gas- and water-resistant with good adhesion without primer. It carries a cULus classification mark. Hilti ranks it in its Ultimate product class.

Use and documentation notes
The Hilti instruction sheet shows pictorial steps for joints and penetrations and refers users to Hilti product literature, third-party published listings and national approvals before handling. Fire resistance ratings depend on the listed assembly, so the joint or penetration must match an approved detail for the wall or floor, the pipe type and the required period. The product page does not list a European Technical Assessment for this sealant, so ask Hilti for the specific listing that applies to the project before relying on it.
Selection and ordering checks
Confirm the base material, joint width and expected movement, whether the pipe is insulated or not, the colour and the cartridge or foil pack format, and compare with the CP 606 acrylic sealant where less movement is expected. The Hilti firestop range also covers collars, wraps, putty, boards and cable transit systems.
