Weldotherm STE 82-12 Standard Europa Heat Treatment Unit

Description

A 12-channel PWHT unit with individual TC80 controllers

The Weldotherm STE 82-12 is a STANDARD EUROPA series heat treatment unit for preheating and post-weld heat treatment with resistance heating elements. It delivers 82 kW to 12 independent channels, each driven by its own TC80 program controller, which shows setpoint and actual value at the same time on two displays. Each TC80 stores six heat-treatment profiles that can be linked into longer sequences. A touchscreen TC1000 controller is offered as an alternative.

The 30 V and 60 V outputs feed ceramic pad heaters of either voltage, and the unit is built for site work on pipework, vessels and structural welds.

Recording the cycle and choosing between STE and VAS

The standard recorder for the series is the Weldotherm AH47 paper recorder, which prints on 180 mm wide folding paper at a feed adjustable from 1 to 1,500 mm/h (60 mm/h as delivered) and prints each channel every 5 seconds. It accepts type K and many other thermocouple types, so the chart can serve as the heat-treatment record required by the welding procedure. A paperless screen recorder with CF card and USB can be fitted instead.

The STANDARD EUROPA and VAS series share power ratings, outputs and safety features: emergency-stop main switch, secondary RCD, phase control, individual circuit protection and transformer over-temperature shutdown. The difference is control: the STE uses one TC80 per channel (or TC1000), while the VAS uses DIGIT 700 or DIGIT 1000 controllers. Recorders with CF card, USB and RS232/485 or Ethernet are options on both.

About brand

WELDOTHERM Gesellschaft für Wärmetechnik mbH, based in Essen, Germany, manufactures equipment for the controlled heat treatment of welds and has worked in this field for more than 40 years. Its range covers resistance and induction heat treatment units, heating elements and inductors, thermocouples, and measuring and control technology for site and workshop use. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat that lists the WR 10,5 inverter unit and sources Weldotherm equipment for preheating and post-weld heat treatment.

Weldotherm heat treatment units

The resistance range runs from the single-channel WR 10,5 inverter, which weighs about 18 kg, to the multi-channel STANDARD EUROPA and VAS series with 2 to 12 control zones for 30 V and 60 V heating elements. The VAI series uses induction, generating heat in the material itself. All units are used with Weldotherm heating mats, cables and Type K thermocouples.

Ordering Weldotherm equipment: what we need

State the unit type, the number of control channels, the site mains voltage and the voltage class of the heating elements you already use. For heating elements, give the type, voltage and dimensions. We check the configuration against Weldotherm datasheets and provide them on request.
