Brand:

Reelcraft TW86075 OLPT 75 ft. Twin Line Welding Hose Reel

Description

Oxygen and fuel gas on one retractable reel

The Reelcraft TW86075 OLPT is a Series TW80000 twin-line spring-retractable welding reel, built to carry oxygen and fuel gas together. A 3/8 in. x 75 ft twin welding hose in T-grade is included, so the reel supplies a torch with both gases from one wall or post mount.

Reelcraft says the Series TW design aims to improve safety and productivity in the work area. The baked-on red powder coat resists corrosion, and the frame, spool and drum are heavy-gauge steel. The double-sealed swivel uses specially molded O-rings, and the two swivel inlets are permanently identified with machined grooves on the gas side so the lines cannot be installed the wrong way round.

TW80000 codes in the manual

TW denotes twin-line welding, 8 the 80000 series, then 6075 the 3/8 in. size and 75 ft length; OLPT is low-pressure T-grade. The same manual lists TW84000, TW84100, TW86000 and TW86050 variants; the reels without hose (TW84000 OLPT and TW86000 OLPT) are the ones the manual describes as UL listed (#70H2).

The product page quotes a 10 day estimated lead time and notes that Series 80000 reels only ship LTL, so plan for pallet or freight delivery rather than courier. At 99 lb with hose, it is the heaviest of the welding reels listed here.

Gas safety and installation from instructions 834-696D

The manual warns against closing the fuel gas at the regulator first, as flashback may damage the hose; close at the torch, then at the regulator or supply, and bleed remaining gas after shutdown. It also asks for adequate ventilation, particularly in confined spaces, and follows NEC, OSHA and local code for installation.

  • Install no higher than 16 ft unless specified at order.
  • Use a wrench on the fittings on the shaft when tightening the hose connector.
  • Rewind the hose and bleed pressure before replacing the hoses or swivel; user servicing is limited to those.
  • Identify the oxygen and fuel gas inlets using the grooves on the gas side so lines are not crossed.

Cutting and brazing stations

Twin reels bring oxy-fuel to bench stations, pipe racks and maintenance bays, keeping 75 ft of hose off the ground so it is not run over or burned. Gulf yards benefit from the heavy powder coat but hose and cylinders should still be shaded from sun. Follow your site hot-work permit rules for gas cylinders and flashback protection. The twin hose uses 3/8 in. size at 200 psi, which is within normal oxy-fuel regulator pressures, but check regulator outlet settings and the T-grade hose rating for the gas you use. The reel is heavy at 99 lb, so use rated anchors on masonry or steel.

Selection and installation notes

A twin-line welding reel carries oxygen and fuel gas together, so use only hose and fittings approved for each gas, fit flashback arrestors and check valves at the torch and at the regulators, keep the reel away from oil and grease and from ignition sources, test the connections with a leak solution and follow the site hot-work rules. Replace the hose if it is cracked, burnt or worn.
