KOBOLD MIM All-Metal Magnetic Inductive Flow Meter, IO-Link
Description
All-metal electromagnetic flow meter for small and medium lines
The KOBOLD MIM is an all-metal magnetic inductive flow meter for measuring and monitoring small and medium flows of conductive liquids. It works on Faraday induction: the conductive liquid moving through a magnetic field induces a voltage proportional to flow velocity, picked up by two electrodes. The measurement does not depend on density, viscosity or temperature of the liquid, and it is bidirectional.
The housing, connection fitting and electrodes are stainless steel 1.4404 with PEEK insulation. The universal U-PACE electronics add a colour TFT display, four optical touch keys usable with gloves, two freely configurable outputs, dosing, a resettable and a grand totaliser, PT1000 temperature measurement, and IO-Link. The MIM-13 wetted parts conform to DVGW 270 and WRAS drinking water guidelines, except range code 35.

NPT female versions from ½” to 2″ are offered with GPM and GPH ranges. Compact (C3T) and remote (P02 with PVC cable, E02 with ETFE cable, lengths 2 to 20 m) designs are available; wall mounting brackets are included with the remote version.
Ordering and selection
The order example is MIM-12 15H G5 C3T 0: MIM-12 (housing and electrodes stainless steel with FKM seals) or MIM-13 (EPDM seals), range code, connection, electronics and special version. The l/min package carries l/min, °C and bar on the nameplate; the GPM package uses GPM, °F and PSI. A calibration report with five measuring points is an option.
The MIM is not for non-conductive liquids such as oils, fuels or demineralised water below the conductivity limit. Confirm before ordering: conductivity, temperature against the cable version, pressure, drinking water compliance if needed, and the output or IO-Link configuration.

About brand
KOBOLD Messring is a German manufacturer of instruments for flow, pressure, level and temperature, founded in 1980 by engineer Klaus J. Kobold in Hofheim am Taunus. Patented measuring principles helped the company establish itself quickly, and independent KOBOLD companies were later set up in many countries, including KOBOLD Instruments Inc. in the United States in 1989.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list selected KOBOLD flow and level instruments for oil and gas, water, power and process plants in Oman and the GCC.
