Helukabel HELUCOM AT-V(ZN)HH(ZN)B2Y OM2 Fibre Optic Cable

Description

The Helukabel HELUCOM AT-V(ZN)HH(ZN)B2Y is a rugged outdoor fibre optic breakout cable with four multimode G50/125 (OM2) fibres. Each fibre sits in its own composite buffered core, the cable has a GRP support element, aramid strain-relief yarns, a ULSZH inner sheath, glass-yarn armouring and a black UV-resistant polyethylene outer sheath. It is longitudinally water-tight and built for fixed outdoor installation in demanding industrial environments.

Breakout construction and where it fits

In a breakout cable every fibre is its own tight-buffered or composite-buffered core with aramid reinforcement, so each leg can be terminated directly with a connector without a fan-out kit. Helukabel notes that the tight-buffer structure enables the cable to be pre-assembled on site with ease, and that the HELUCOM range is set apart by its rugged, rodent-protected design for demanding environmental conditions with fixed installation.

Choosing the fibre and link design

A 50/125 OM2 link suits short and medium distances inside a site, such as between a control building and a field junction box or between switch cabinets. For longer plant backbones, single-mode fibre has far greater reach, so choose the fibre type from the link budget of the switches and transceivers. Check the optical budget, connector type (LC, SC or ST) and the pulling tension before ordering, and do not exceed the 1200 N tensile limit or the 340 mm static bending radius.

About brand

HELUKABEL is the German manufacturer and supplier of cables, wires and cable accessories, with a range that covers control, power, data, fire-resistant and drag-chain cables. Helmut Luksch and his wife founded the company in 1978 in Hemmingen, near Stuttgart. The name combines the first letters of his first and last name (HElmut LUksch) with the word for cable (Kabel). It has made its own cables since 1988.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list HELUKABEL control, power, VFD, data and fire-resistant cables and supply them to contractors, panel builders and plants in Oman and the GCC by type, cross-section and length.

H07RN-F, H01N2-D Rubber cables Mobile equipment, temporary power and arc welding

The code on a European cable describes its build. In NYY-J, N means a standard type, Y a PVC insulation and sheath, and J a green-yellow earth core. In N2XH, 2X is XLPE insulation and H a halogen-free sheath. A C or CY in the name marks a copper braid screen. FE 180 and E 90 are the fire tests: insulation integrity for 180 minutes and circuit function for 90 minutes as an installed system.

Where HELUKABEL cables are used

In Oman and the GCC, HELUKABEL cables are used in oil and gas and process plants, motor control centres and VFD installations, building fire alarm and life safety systems, machinery and cranes, and water and power infrastructure.

Ordering HELUKABEL cables: what we need

Send the cable type, the number of cores and cross-section (for example 4G2.5 or 3x150+70), the length, and whether you need a specific standard or certificate. For fire-resistant cables, add the required test (FE 180, E 30 or E 90).
