Description
The Helukabel JZ-500 is a flexible PVC control and connection cable for machine tools, conveyors, production lines and general plant wiring. Cores are black with white consecutive numbers, and from three cores up the JZ version carries a green-yellow protective conductor in the outer layer; the OZ version has none. It is a VDE-registered type (Reg. No. 7032, valid up to +70 °C).

Where it fits and where it does not
Helukabel describes the JZ-500 for flexible use with medium mechanical stress, free movement, no tensile load and no forced guidance, in dry, damp and wet rooms but not outdoors. Typical jobs are connection and control wiring on machine tools, assembly lines, conveyor belts, production lines, plant construction, air-conditioning technology and steel and rolling mills. The sheath is largely oil resistant and the cable is conditionally suitable for torsion and for drag chains, so a continuously moving chain run should be specified with a purpose-built chain cable instead. The materials are cadmium-free and silicone-free and free from substances that disturb lacquer wetting.
For outdoor routes, a halogen-free requirement or screening, move to a sister type: the JZ-500 HMH for halogen-free, or the screened JZ-600-Y-CY for EMC and UV exposure.

The part number selects both the core count and the cross-section. Entries below are taken from the manufacturer table; G means a protective conductor is included and x means none.

Cross-sections go from 0.5 mm² up to 185 mm² and the AWG figures printed in the table are approximations for orientation only. For clean-room use Helukabel asks that cleanroom qualification is stated in the order.

Does the JZ-500 have a protective conductor?
JZ-500 versions with three or more cores carry a green-yellow protective conductor in the outer layer, marked G in the size. The OZ-500 version has none, marked x.
Can the JZ-500 be used outdoors?
