How do I identify a Magnet-Schultz solenoid?
Read the type code on the coil or housing label. It normally starts with G or, for pneumatic valve solenoids, with V, and is followed by letters and numbers for size and version. The line with D-87700 Memmingen is only the address. Voltage, duty cycle and a serial or date code complete the identification.
Can I replace a solenoid with one of a different voltage?
Only if the control circuit is changed to suit. Coil voltage, AC or DC operation and power must match the supply, and the mechanical interface must match the valve. Proportional solenoids also need the right current range for their amplifier. Send the old nameplate and the valve model and we check what fits.
Are there Magnet-Schultz solenoids for hazardous areas?
Yes. The manufacturer has a product group in explosion-protected design to ATEX and IECEx. The Ex marking and certificate number are on the nameplate. A standard solenoid must not be used in its place, so send the full marking with your inquiry, and the manufacturer's certificate is provided with the order on request.
