How do I read a Copeland scroll model number such as ZR125KCE-TFD?
ZR is the scroll family for air conditioning duty. 125K is the nominal capacity code, based on the 60 Hz rating. The character after it is the model variation, and E marks a compressor charged with POE oil (mineral oil versions have no letter). TFD after the dash is the motor code, a three-phase motor for 380 to 420 V at 50 Hz, with F standing for inherent motor protection. Send the complete string with the serial number.
Is a compressor labeled Emerson or DWM Copeland still a Copeland product?
Yes. Copeland compressors have been sold with Emerson, Emerson Climate Technologies and DWM Copeland on the nameplate at different times and in different regions. The model nomenclature stayed with the product.
