Brand:

Axis P5655-E 1080p PTZ Network Camera with 32x Zoom

Description

A cost-effective PTZ dome for yards, car parks and building perimeters

The Axis P5655-E is an outdoor PTZ dome camera with a 1/2.8 inch sensor, HDTV 1080p resolution and 32x optical zoom (4.3 to 137.6 mm, F1.4 to 4.0). The horizontal field of view runs from 58.3 down to 2.4 degrees, and electronic image stabilization, focus recall and a focus window help keep the picture stable and sharp when the dome returns to a preset. Axis rates it IP66, NEMA 4X and IK10.

Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB depending on the scene) and Lightfinder 2.0 deal with scenes that mix dark and bright areas, and ARTPEC-7 with a machine learning processing unit runs AXIS Object Analytics for humans and vehicles. The camera has no built-in infrared illumination, so night use depends on site lighting or an external illuminator. Signed firmware and secure boot are listed for cybersecurity.

Deciding between this and heavier PTZ models

The P5655-E is the entry-level choice in this PTZ range: 1080p, 32x zoom, a 2.5 kg dome and a PoE+ supply. It has a narrower operating temperature range (-30 to 50 degC) than heavy-duty models such as the Axis Q6225-LE (-50 to 55 degC at full power), and has no built-in IR, so it suits sites with lighting, such as car parks, depots and building perimeters, rather than dark remote fence lines.

Power must be decided early. The datasheet lists a one-port PoE+ midspan as the standard supply (not included), a DC input from 20 to 28 V and an AC input from 20 to 24 V. The package contains ceiling and pipe adaptors, but wall, corner or pole mounting needs one of the T91B mounts listed as optional accessories. Audio needs an optional Axis connector or multicable, so say if two-way audio is required.

For an enquiry state the mounting type, the power source (midspan, DC or AC), the storage and the video system. If infrared illumination or an extended temperature range is needed, mention it so a more suitable PTZ can be offered.
