Brand:

Axis D2210-VE 61 GHz Radar with LED Strip for Area and Traffic Monitoring

Description

A compact 61 GHz radar with a built-in warning light

The Axis D2210-VE is a small FMCW radar working at 61.0 to 61.5 GHz that detects, classifies and tracks humans and vehicles. It covers 95 degrees horizontally and offers three profiles: one-directional road monitoring, two-directional road monitoring and area monitoring. For vehicles the datasheet quotes speeds up to 360 km/h for oncoming traffic with the one-directional road profile, and a detection range of up to 150 m.

What sets it apart from larger radars is the integrated dynamic LED strip with red, green and blue LEDs and predefined light patterns. Axis gives a daylight visibility of up to 60 m in direct sunlight, and the strip can be used to deter, warn or notify, or switched off for discreet monitoring. The radar also supplies PoE out, so a camera or a horn speaker can be connected without an extra power drop, and it supports speaker pairing and camera pairing.

Using the LED strip, PoE out and road profiles

The road profiles are meant for traffic at 30 m or more from the sensor and the area profile for open ground. The datasheet notes that detection range depends on mounting height, tilt and placement, and recommends placing the radar in front of or behind moving vehicles for road use. Use the manufacturer tools named in the datasheet, such as Site Designer, to check coverage before ordering.

The LED strip offers a visible deterrent without a separate lamp, and the PoE output can power a nearby camera or speaker; the PoE output requires the radar to be fed by 802.3bt Type 3 Class 6 at up to 38 W. If the output is not used, ordinary 802.3at Class 4 is sufficient, and DC input from 10 to 28 V is available for sites without PoE. Compare it with the Axis Q6315-LE PTZ when planning verification of a radar alarm by a camera.

Send the profile, mounting height, coverage width, power source and the device to be connected to the PoE output when requesting a quotation. Note that the 61 GHz band rules and approvals differ by country, so ask us to confirm the market approvals listed in the datasheet for your destination.

About brand

Axis Communications is a Swedish maker of network video and security products, founded in 1984 in Lund by Martin Gren, Mikael Karlsson and Keith Bloodworth. It started with print servers and protocol converters for IBM environments and launched one of the first network cameras in 1996. Since 2015 Axis has been part of the Canon Group, run as a separate company from its Lund headquarters.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Axis cameras and devices for plant, site and facility security projects in Oman and the GCC.
