Paxton 337-280 Entry Standard Monitor 4.3 in Video Door Monitor
Description
337-280 is the Paxton Entry Standard monitor without a handset: the indoor video unit of the Entry door-entry system, with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, full-duplex audio and PoE power.
The indoor end of an Entry door-entry call
Paxton lists Entry as three auto-detecting components: an external panel, an interior monitor and a door control unit. The Standard monitor is the second-generation interior unit. A visitor presses the bell button on the panel, the monitor rings, and the occupant can answer and release the door from the touchscreen. The datasheet states that it comes with or without a handset and that it can be wall or desk mounted.
Software features printed in the datasheet include selectable ringtones, Do Not Disturb, call snapshot, a built-in help menu, a view video mode, a call log of 100 events and concierge compatibility. A 2 A sounder beacon relay and a line-out for a T-loop antenna are listed under hardware features.
Key features as printed in the datasheet
- 4.3-inch, 16:9 capacitive colour LED touchscreen, 480 x 272 pixels.
- RGB status LED: green to answer, flashing green for open door, blue for doorbell, red for missed calls and messages.
- Two-wire doorbell input with 8 V illumination supported.
- Works with Net2, Paxton10 or standalone; calls can also be answered in the Paxton Entry app.

Standard monitor with or without handset
The datasheet gives two monitor codes: 337-280 without a handset and 337-282 with a handset, plus the optional monitor desktop stand 337-294. A handset suits private calls, while hands-free mode uses the built-in speaker. The product page also lists an Entry Premium monitor, and says the Standard monitor shares its user interface.
One monitor is needed per dwelling or answering point, and the datasheet allows up to 1000 monitors per system against 100 panels. Confirm the monitor, panel and control unit codes before ordering.
Installation notes
The monitor connects with CAT5 or a standard RJ45 patch cable and is powered by PoE, so no separate power supply is required. The datasheet lists compatibility with UK, Euro and USA backboxes and states that the unit is for indoor use: moisture resistance is No and the operating range is 0 °C to +49 °C.
Paxton states that the components auto-detect on set up. Wiegand output mode is not supported on the Entry range, according to the product page.
Where it is used
Typical uses are apartment buildings, staff housing blocks, villa gate intercoms and reception desks in small offices. The 49 °C upper limit means the monitor belongs in an air-conditioned interior, not in an unconditioned vestibule or guard cabin in summer.
Selection and installation notes
Access control is designed door by door: the door type, the lock, the reader position, the exit method and the fire release all need to be settled before the equipment is chosen. Fit the unit on the secure side where the maker advises, run cable of the type and length the data sheet allows, test the lock release on power failure and fire alarm, and keep a record of the user and token set-up. Check local fire and security rules before commissioning.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
