ABB CP-S.1 24/10.0 Power Supply 24 V DC 10 A 240 W
Description
CP-S.1 24/10.0: a high-efficiency 240 W supply with 150 % power reserve
CP-S.1 24/10.0 is a mid-to-high performance switch-mode supply from the CP-S.1 range. It provides 24 V DC at 10 A (240 W) with efficiency above 93 percent, active power factor correction and a power reserve of 150 percent of rated current for five seconds, which helps to start motor-driven and capacitive loads.
ABB describes the CP-S.1 as compact, with overheat protection, coated circuit boards, a broad AC and DC input range and extensive approvals including marine. A relay output 13-14 signals output OK.

Power reserve, efficiency and derating
The 150 percent reserve means the supply can deliver 15 A for five seconds, which is useful for solenoid inrush or for tripping a downstream MCB at short-circuit. Output voltage is adjustable between 24 and 28 V DC.
Full 10 A is available from -25 to 60 C; above 60 C the output current is reduced by 2.5 percent per kelvin up to 70 C. Input current is only 1.25 A at 230 V, and the data sheet specifies an inrush of 11 A or less when cold.
Parallel operation and connection
Up to three units can be paralleled for power or redundancy; the output voltages must not differ by more than 50 mV, according to ABB. The CP-C.1-A-RU redundancy unit (1SVR360060R1001) is the matching accessory. Terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm2 and the signalling contact 0.15 to 0.8 mm2.
ABB recommends a 1-pole S200 miniature circuit breaker for protecting 1.5 mm2 supply wire. Keep 30 mm horizontal and 50 mm vertical clearance to other devices.
Documents and quotation
The linked file is ABB CP-S.1 24/10.0 power supply data sheet 1SAC200139H0001. Seven Star LLC supplies the CP-S.1 24/10.0 on request from Muscat; availability and lead time are given in the quotation. More electrical and power products are in the Power Modules category, and the ABB CR-M024DC4L interface relay is a typical 24 V DC load.
Confirm before ordering: mains input range at site, the total 24 V DC load including inrush, ambient temperature in the cabinet and whether a redundancy unit is wanted.

About brand
ABB is the Swiss-Swedish engineering group for electrification and automation: low voltage drives, motors, circuit breakers and motor control, process instruments and analysers, control systems and robots. It was formed on 5 January 1988 by the merger of two older companies. ASEA was founded in Västerås, Sweden, in 1883 by Ludvig Fredholm to make electric lighting and generators. BBC Brown Boveri was founded in Baden near Zurich in 1891 by Charles E. L. Brown and Walter Boveri. ABB Ltd is incorporated in Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm.

Choosing an ABB drive
ABB's ACS drive codes are easy to read once you know the pattern. In ACS580-01-046A-4, "ACS580" is the drive family, "01" means a wall-mounted single drive, "046A" is the rated output current (about 46 A) and "-4" means a 380–480 V supply. The family is chosen by application: ACS355 for compact machinery, ACS310 for simple pumps and fans, ACS580 as the general-purpose drive, ACQ580 for water and wastewater with pump functions such as pipe fill and dry-run protection, and ACS880 for heavy industrial duty with direct torque control. Size the drive on the motor's full-load current, not only its kW rating, and allow derating for the high ambient temperatures common in Gulf electrical rooms.
Where ABB products are used
In Oman and the GCC, ABB drives and motors run pumps, fans and compressors in water and wastewater plants, district cooling, oil and gas and industry. ABB flowmeters, level instruments and analysers are used in water utilities, power and desalination plants and refineries, and SACE breakers protect switchboards in buildings and plants.
