Invertek Drives Optidrive E3 IP20 Variable Frequency Drive
Description
Compact general-purpose drive for 110 to 480 V machines
The Invertek Drives Optidrive E3 IP20 is a compact variable frequency drive for open-chassis mounting inside a control cabinet. It covers single-phase and three-phase supplies from 110 V to 480 V and output ratings from 0.37 kW to 37 kW, in five frame sizes. It is aimed at conveyors, fans, pumps, mixers, packaging lines and other general machinery where a simple, reliable speed controller is needed. Sensorless vector control drives induction motors, and the same drive can also run permanent magnet, brushless DC and synchronous reluctance motors.
The data below is taken from the Invertek Drives Optidrive E3 IP20 user guide.

Configuration and commissioning
The drive starts up from a short list of basic parameters, and the application macros preload suitable settings for general industrial, pump and fan duties. Parameters can be copied between drives with the Optistick Smart accessory, which also helps when a drive has to be replaced quickly. Built-in PI control lets the drive hold a process variable such as pressure or flow without an external controller, and the brake chopper allows a braking resistor to be connected for faster stops on high-inertia loads.
Installation notes
IP20 drives are designed for indoor use in a suitable cabinet, with the cooling air path kept clear and the ambient temperature within the limits above. Above 1,000 m the output current has to be derated, and humidity must stay non-condensing. If the drive is to be installed in a dusty or damp area, the IP66 version of the same family is the better choice. Motor cables should be screened and kept as short as the application allows, and the guide describes the earthing and EMC practice for each frame size.
When choosing a size, match the drive to the motor full-load current rather than only to the kilowatt rating, and allow for the derating described above if the cabinet is hot or the site is high. For installations in Oman and the wider Gulf, cabinet temperature is usually the limiting factor, so ventilation or air conditioning of the panel should be considered at the planning stage.

About brand
Invertek Drives designs and manufactures variable frequency drives at its global headquarters in Welshpool, Wales, in the United Kingdom. The company is part of Sumitomo Heavy Industries and holds ISO 9001 certification. Seven Star LLC lists selected Optidrive models with links to the official Invertek user guides.
Optidrive families
The Optidrive E3 is a compact general-purpose drive in IP20 and IP66 versions, with a variant for single-phase output motors. The Optidrive P2 is an industrial vector drive up to 250 kW, and the Optidrive Eco range is aimed at HVAC and pumping applications with built-in building and pump control functions.
Features such as sensorless vector control, Safe Torque Off, built-in fieldbus communication and low-harmonic design vary by family, so each product page lists the points that apply to that model and the limits of its environment.
