Brand:

Kjellberg CUTFIRE 105 Air Plasma Cutting System

Description

High-duty 105 A air plasma cutter rated for continuous cutting

The Kjellberg CUTFIRE 105 is the first unit in the series with a 100 % duty cycle at 40 °C, which Kjellberg highlights for longer cutting operations at high utilisation. Cutting current is 20 to 105 A. In mild steel the recommended cutting range is 30 mm, the maximum capacity is 50 mm and the piercing capacity is 20 mm. It uses the larger housing of the series, 678 x 390 x 610 mm, and weighs 45 kg, which places it between a portable unit and a fixed production machine.

Features that matter in production cutting

The operator enters material, thickness and cutting mode on the display, and the control sets cutting current, cutting pressure and cutting speed. Kjellberg notes that this makes setup straightforward when the cutting task changes between jobs. Digital pressure control and integrated process monitoring support stable conditions, and the system stops if gas pressure drops below the minimum. The CNC interface and marking function are standard, which matters for a unit likely to be bolted to a cutting table and fed from a nesting program.

Because the CUTFIRE 105 uses air as the plasma gas, running cost depends mainly on consumables and on the compressed air system rather than on bottled gas.

Selection and installation notes for the CUTFIRE 105

Look at the supply first. The 105 needs a 32 A slow mains fuse on a three-phase supply of 380 to 440 V, and Kjellberg lists a maximum connected load of 18.9 kVA on the product page. Compare the 30 mm recommended range with your regular plate thickness: if most cuts sit near or above it, the CUTFIRE 125 gives more margin, and if most cuts are thinner than 20 mm the smaller 90 may be enough. Both the 105 and the 125 share the same housing size and the same KjellCut 125 and 125M torches.

Kjellberg adds that the long-life consumables of the CUTFIRE range and the use of compressed air as process gas keep operating costs low, and that the system is suited to steel construction, production, and repair and maintenance work. For a fabrication shop that cuts plate all day, those points deserve a look at the consumable consumption and the air compressor capacity alongside the machine price.

Documents and quotation

The Kjellberg CUTFIRE series brochure is attached and lists all models in one table. For a quotation, send the model, the supply voltage and frequency, the material and thickness range, the daily cutting hours, hand-held or table use, and the torch hose length. Other cutters are grouped under plasma cutting systems.

About brand

Kjellberg Finsterwalde is a German manufacturer of plasma cutting systems, welding technology and welding electrodes, based in Finsterwalde. The company traces its history to Oscar Kjellberg, who obtained the 1908 German patent for the coated welding electrode, and it has operated in Finsterwalde since 1922. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists the Kjellberg CUTFIRE air plasma cutting systems and sources Kjellberg equipment for fabricators and workshops.

Kjellberg product groups

The cutting range runs from mobile CUTFIRE air plasma units for hand-held and mechanised work to automated systems such as HiFocus, Smart Focus and the iQ and Q series, with KjellCut torches and the Q-Torch automatic torch-change system. On the welding side Kjellberg lists coated electrodes for unalloyed, high-temperature, stainless, nickel-base, cast iron, underwater and surfacing work, plus submerged-arc and TIG welding technology.

Ordering Kjellberg equipment: what we need

Give the model name, the mains voltage and frequency, the material and thickness to be cut, and whether the system will be used hand-held or on a cutting table. For plasma systems also state the torch hose length and whether a CNC interface is needed.
