Speakman Optimus SE-1200 Emergency Shower with Eye/Face Wash
Description
The Speakman Optimus SE-1200 is a complete floor-mounted emergency station: an emergency shower with an 8 in yellow plastic head and a pull rod, and an Optimus eye and face wash with a highly visible yellow ABS plastic bowl, on a powder-coated steel stanchion. The eye and face wash has a dual aerated eyewash and two individual face pads that together give 66 individual sprays, and a paddle handle on the side activates it.
The page lists 4.9 gpm at 30 psi for the eye and face wash and 20 gpm for the shower, with a 1-1/4 in NPT connection. The system is certified ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 per the maker, with top or side inlets so it can be tied into existing plumbing.

Selection and ordering guide
SE-1200 is the plastic-bowl combination in the Optimus line. The sheet groups it with SE-1250 and SE-1255 for installation, and the stand-alone wall-mounted version with a stainless bowl is the SE-1050 on this site. Choose the standard stanchion height or the ADA build, which swaps the pipe lengths and adds a pull rod extension (RPG47-0044 is the stainless extension rod named on the page). The top or side inlet is selected by plugging the unused tee outlet.
Installation and operation notes
Use thread locker or sealant on all threaded connections. Mount the floor flange, thread the drain and supply cross onto the pipe so that the side outlets face front and back and the 1/2 in male outlet points up at 45 degrees to the right, fit the tee, 1 in pipe, ball valve, elbow and showerhead, and fix the lever handle assembly and pull rod with the pin and cotter pin. For ADA installations add the pull rod extension with a machine screw and nylon nut. Thread the bowl assembly to the pipe, level and plumb, connect the flex hose to the ball valve and cross, connect an uninterruptible potable supply with at least 30 psi flowing, and connect an adequate drain. Test weekly and record on the supplied tag. Before servicing, shut off the water.
Applications in GCC industry
The yellow plastic bowl and powder-coated steel are suited to indoor chemical handling areas and covered plant locations, where a high-visibility station is more important than all-stainless construction. One stanchion carries both fixtures, so a single supply and drain serve the shower and the face wash, which suits dosing skids, battery rooms and bunded chemical stores.
Compatible items
The sheet names the pull rod extension for ADA height and the standard spare parts under the part list; Speakman strongly advises genuine parts only. A matching Optimus wall-mounted eye and face wash is available if a second eyewash is needed.
Installation and selection notes
The floor-mounted station needs a firm floor, a pipe connection of the right size and a drain or run-off plan. Choose top or side inlet according to the pipework, test the shower and eyewash regularly, and keep the path to the station clear and well signed.
