Brand: Speakman
Speakman Traditional SE-626-SS All-Stainless Shower and Eyewash
Description
The Speakman SE-626-SS is a floor-mounted combination emergency shower and eyewash made entirely of stainless steel. It has an 8 in stainless steel shower head with an internal 20 gpm regulator, a full-flow stay-open 1 in stainless steel ball valve operated by a triangular pull handle, and an SE-582-SS eyewash with a stainless steel round bowl and two aerated sprays. The stanchion is 1-1/2 in, 18 gauge stainless steel tubing.
The SS suffix matters. The plain SE-626 on the same sheet uses a stainless frame with the SE-582 eyewash, whereas the SE-626-SS specifies the SE-582-SS eyewash and, per the page, an all-stainless construction. This is the version for corrosive atmospheres where painted or galvanized steel would deteriorate.

Selection and ordering guide
The 62X sheet combines six codes. SE-622 and SE-626 differ in the eyewash fitted (SE-505 and SE-582), SE-623 and SE-625 use eye/face washes (SE-400 and SE-490), and the -SS options replace the eyewash with stainless versions (SE-490-SS, SE-582-SS). Pick SE-626-SS when the eyewash bowl should also be stainless and a plain eyewash (without face coverage) is acceptable; choose SE-625-SS if the face wash is wanted. The SE-603 on this site is the powder-coated galvanized alternative.
Installation and operation notes
Mount the bottom stanchion on the floor with suitable anchors, add the middle and top sections with the rubber sealing gasket seated, and use pipe sealant on every joint. Rest the eyewash bowl on the rubber washer and drain spud, level it, then fix the strainer with the supplied hex tool and plumber’s putty. Connect the 1/2 in stainless flexible hose from the stanchion outlet to the in-line strainer, fit the pull rod and shower head, and connect potable water to the 1-1/4 in top inlet and the 1-1/4 in waste to the bottom outlet. The shower runs until the pull handle is pushed back to the off position; the eyewash runs until the trigger bar or push handle is reset. Weekly activation and a record on the supplied tag are required, and the sheet insists on genuine Speakman parts.
Applications in GCC industry
Stainless units are chosen for coastal plants, desalination halls, chemical and caustic areas and outdoor locations where salt-laden humidity corrodes painted steel. The stainless head and valve also keep the water path free from flaking coatings. Plan drainage and area lighting, and confirm local requirements on water temperature and signage.
Installation and selection notes
The all-stainless version is chosen for corrosive or washdown areas, so confirm the corrosion requirement of the site. Install it with the pipework sized for the 20 gpm shower and the eyewash flow and test both regularly. Keep the floor around it clear and provide drainage.
Before ordering, compare the ratings on the data sheet with the project specification, check the connection sizes and the supply conditions, and confirm which accessories, spares and documents travel with the unit. On delivery, inspect the packing, compare the nameplate with the order and keep the manual with the site records so that later commissioning and maintenance work can follow the maker instructions. Ask us if any detail is unclear and we will check it with the supplier before the order is placed.
