Brand:

Haws 8133H AXION MSR Corrosion-Resistant Drench Shower

Description

8133H is the corrosion-resistant member of the Haws AXION MSR drench shower line: 1 in. Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe and fittings, a Type 316 stainless steel stay-open ball valve and a stainless steel showerhead with a 20 gpm flow control, mounted horizontally from a wall.

All-stainless water path for harsh atmospheres

Where a galvanized shower would suffer from salt air, washdown chemicals or acid fumes, Haws offers the 8133H with stainless steel throughout. The pipe and fittings are 1 in. Schedule 40 stainless steel, the ball valve is Type 316 stainless with a stainless steel ball and stem, and the pull rod is a 28 in. (71.1 cm) stainless triangular design.

The showerhead is the AXION MSR stainless steel hydrodynamic head; the valve assembly is pre-built and Haws lists a part number SP265 for it in the parts breakdown. The unit includes the universal emergency sign and the weekly test card.

Selection and ordering guide

Choose the 8133H where corrosion, not floor space, drives the specification: chemical plants, offshore-type environments, wash-down areas and coastal sites. The 8123 uses a chrome-plated brass valve and is the lower-spec wall shower; this model replaces that valve with 316 stainless.

The sheet is specific that this version is designed for horizontal installation from a wall, unlike the 8123 which also allows ceiling and vertical use.

Installation and operation notes

The manual asks for a minimum 1 in. IPS line, 30-90 psi flowing pressure, an inlet filter if sediment is present, and a female 1 in. IPS inlet connection. For weak flow the checklist is the same short list used for stainless showers: shut-off valve, 30 psi, then the rubber flow control inside the showerhead.

The parts breakdown lists SP265 valve assembly, SP829SS shower head, SP177 sign and SP200 pull rod. Note the head-height range printed on the drawing (82 in. minimum to 86-7/8 in.).

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Salt-laden coastal air, sea-water cooling areas, desalination and chemical storage in the GCC are the usual places where stainless fittings are chosen over galvanized steel. The 316 valve is relevant for chloride-rich atmospheres, but the sheet does not state a chloride limit, so confirm the environment with the manufacturer if it is severe.

Pair the shower with an eyewash within the 10 second reach distance the guidance recommends.
