Brand: NAFFCO
NAFFCO 150-NFH Dry Type Pillar Fire Hydrant, 6 in. Inlet
Description
Dry-barrel pillar hydrant for fire mains up to 250 psi
The NAFFCO 150-NFH is a dry-type pillar fire hydrant built to ANSI/AWWA C502 and carrying UL and FM marks on the manufacturer datasheet. In a dry-barrel design the main valve sits at the base of the hydrant below the frost line, so the upper barrel stays empty when the valve is closed. That prevents damage from freezing and limits water loss if the upper barrel is struck, which is why this construction is common on yard fire mains, tank farms and industrial plot hydrant rings.
The hydrant is supplied in two inlet versions: 150-NFH(F) with a flanged inlet and 150-NFH(M) for a mechanical-joint connection. Both use a 6 in. inlet and are rated for a nominal pressure of 250 psi.

Design features that matter on site
The datasheet lists O-ring sealed flanges at the bonnet ground line and shoe, which make maintenance easier by avoiding gasket adhesion and give better pressure handling than flat gaskets. A hold-down nut with an integral weather seal and a resilient wiper seal keep water out of the operating nut. The safety flange is designed to break cleanly if the hydrant is hit, protecting the barrel, and the main valve can be removed from either the bonnet flange or the ground-line flange. Full-flow openings reduce friction loss at the outlets.
What to confirm before ordering
Confirm the inlet type (flanged or mechanical joint), the required burial depth or bury length for your installation, and whether your fire authority requires NH-thread outlets or a different outlet standard, because the datasheet describes NH thread connections only. If you need an above-ground landing valve for a building riser instead, see the NAFFCO NDR 098 oblique landing valve. Other fire-fighting equipment is listed under Fire Fighting.
Documents and quotation

About brand
NAFFCO, founded in 1991 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, manufactures fire fighting equipment, from extinguishers and hose cabinets to pumps and riser valves. Seven Star LLC lists NAFFCO extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants and landing valves, among them two oblique landing valves to BS 5041, the NDR 097 with threaded inlet and the NDR 098 with flanged inlet, and supplies NAFFCO fire fighting products to contractors and building owners in Oman.
NAFFCO landing valves and riser equipment
A landing valve is the outlet on a wet riser where the fire service connects a hose on each floor. NAFFCO groups its landing valves into a Kitemark and LPCB approved line and a separate FM approved line, so the approval is tied to the model, not to the brand as a whole. The NDR 097 and NDR 098 differ in how they join the riser branch: screwed or bolted.
Ordering NAFFCO equipment: what we need
Send the NAFFCO model number, the inlet type and size, the outlet coupling standard, and the approval your consultant or civil defense authority asks for. Add the riser working pressure and the quantity per floor. For other items, the model number from the NAFFCO datasheet is the best reference. We receive the same data from GCC projects outside Oman.
