Fire protection that fits in one rack unit
The Minimax OneU fire protection system is designed specifically for installation in closed 19 inch IT racks. Conventional systems need up to three rack units, while OneU needs a single unit of 44 mm height and leaves the rest for IT equipment. Minimax states it is equal in function, quality and reliability to systems that need more space.
The OneU active extinguishing system is a stand-alone device for detecting and extinguishing fires in a closed rack. It is inserted into one of the slots in the top third of the rack and contains an aspirating smoke detector module, an MX 1230 extinguishing module, a power supply module with emergency power, detection and control electronics, monitored connections for alarm devices, floating contacts and a display and control panel.

How OneU detects, releases and combines
Air is drawn from the rack by a suction fan past two smoke sensors with adjustable sensitivity. The first sensor triggers a pre-alarm, at which stage electrical circuits can be disconnected to hinder a growing fire. If the fire develops, the second sensor triggers the main alarm and the electronics activate the MX 1230 module. The agent leaves through a special nozzle geometry and spreads through the rack and cable spaces without residue. An optional external manual release is available.
OneU DD provides the same functions without the extinguishing module and can monitor and control up to four OneU ED extinguishing systems or trigger an external extinguishing system. OneU ED consists of the MX 1230 module and control electronics and protects one closed rack of up to 2.8 m3. Power for ED units comes from the active or DD unit.
What to confirm before ordering
