Brand: Hydac
Hydac FMND Change-Over Inline Filter to DIN 24550, up to 250 bar
Description
Duplex inline filtration for medium-pressure lines
The Hydac FMND is a duplex inline filter with a built-in change-over valve and two screw-in steel bowls on one ductile iron head. Flow runs through one side while the other can be opened and serviced, so an element change does not need a plant stop. It is sized for medium-pressure hydraulic lines at up to 400 l/min.
Nine sizes are listed. FMND 40, 63, 100, 160, 250 and 400 follow DIN 24550, and FMND 60, 110 and 140 are available in the manufacturer’s own dimensions.

Ordering code and options
The code example is FMND BN/HC 250 L D F 10 D 1 .X /-L24. It reads: series, element material, size, pressure letter (L = 210 bar for 160 to 400; M = 250 bar for 40 to 140), change-over type D, port letter, micron rating, indicator letter and type code. Port letters B, C, D, E and F give G1/2 to G1 1/2 threads, and I and K give the SAE DN 25 and DN 38 flanges; not every letter exists on every size, so check the table in the datasheet.
Accessories on request include a bypass valve, an oil drain plug (standard on sizes 160 to 400, option SO184 on 40 to 140), FPM or EPDM seals and a reverse-flow design (RL) for FMND 160 and above. The replacement element and indicator have their own codes in the same sheet.
Notes for selection
The housing has to be earthed, and an electrical indicator connector must not be removed while the system is live. Filters with a switching valve are designed with a permitted leakage that depends on the operating medium; ask the manufacturer for the value if the leakage across the valve matters in your circuit.
Listed fluids are mineral hydraulic oils, lubrication and compressor oils, biodegradable HETG, HEES and HEPG, and fire-resistant HFA to HFD, with high-water-content fluids on request. Tell us the pressure class and whether the unit must match DIN 24550 dimensions or the manufacturer’s own pattern when you send the code.
Gradient coefficients for Betamicron BN4HC elements, in mbar per l/min at 30 mm2/s:
| FMND size | 3 µm | 6 µm | 10 µm | 25 µm |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 | 40.4 | 24.8 | 16.4 | 10.9 |
| 63 | 29.0 | 18.2 | 11.7 | 7.6 |
| 100 | 19.0 | 11.7 | 7.7 | 5.3 |
| 160 | 8.0 | 5.1 | 3.8 | 2.5 |
| 250 | 5.4 | 3.4 | 2.8 | 1.9 |
| 400 | 3.4 | 2.1 | 1.7 | 1.1 |
Optimicron values for sizes 60, 110 and 140 are given in the same section of the datasheet.

About brand
Hydraulic power units around the world carry Hydac parts: accumulators, filters, coolers, valves and the sensors that watch pressure and temperature. The company was founded in 1963 in Sulzbach/Saar, Germany. Seven Star LLC lists Hydac SB330 bladder accumulators, RFM return line filters and the EDS 3400 and ETS 1700 electronic switches, and sources Hydac spare parts for plants in Oman and the GCC.
Hydac product families
Hydac groups its program into hydraulics and filtration (filters, accumulators, sensors and measurement), control technology (valves, control blocks, ball valves), thermal management (air and fluid coolers) and drive technology (pumps, motors, cylinders). The four listed products come from the first group and are common on lube oil skids, presses, turbine control units and mobile machines.
Ordering Hydac parts: what we need
- Accumulators: full model code, volume, pressure rating, bladder material and the approval required
- Filters and elements: housing code, element code, micron rating and clogging indicator type
- EDS and ETS switches: full code with range, output version and connector
