Adam Equipment AELP Pallet Beam Scales, 1000 to 3000 kg

The Adam AELP is a pair of low-profile pallet beam scales for weighing oversized or bulky loads such as loaded pallets, drums, crates and fabricated parts. Each set is two beams, each 1330 x 120 mm, fitted with four OIML-approved load cells, rugged built-in wheels and handles, heavy-duty rubber feet and a shielded cable of about five metres that connects the beams to an indicator.

Weigh loaded pallets where they stand

Because the beams are only 85 mm high they slide under a pallet that has been lifted with a pallet truck, so goods can be weighed in a yard, store, workshop or loading bay without a pit or a fixed platform. The integrated wheels and handles let one person relocate the beams, and the mild steel construction suits industrial use.

The AELP has no display of its own. Adam states that it can be used with any of its indicators and names the GC counting indicator, GK-S and GK-Plus checkweighing indicators and the AE 403, AE 503, AE 504 and AE 505 indicators. Applications listed are weighing, parts counting, percentage weighing, checkweighing, check counting and dynamic or animal weighing, and the beams are Adam Connect compatible for wireless data transfer to printers and PCs.

Choosing capacity and the indicator

The three models share the same beams, so the choice is capacity and resolution. The 1000 kg set reads to 0.2 kg, which suits checking lighter pallets and mixed loads; the 3000 kg set reads to 1 kg for heavy dispatch loads. Choose a set whose capacity comfortably exceeds the heaviest gross load including the pallet, and remember the readability applies to the whole system rather than to a single beam.

The indicator determines the daily workflow. Use a counting indicator for parts, a checkweighing indicator for fill or dispatch limits and a label-printing indicator when a ticket must accompany every load. A stainless, sealed indicator such as the AE 403 is better in washdown or dusty areas. What to confirm before ordering

Confirm the heaviest load and the required readability, the pallet size relative to the 1330 mm beam length, the indicator model and cable, whether calibration weights or a calibration certificate are needed, and the ambient range (-10 to 40 C). The datasheet does not state a legal-for-trade approval for the AELP, so trade use should be checked with the manufacturer before ordering.
