Adam Equipment PTSplus Pallet Truck Scale, 2000 kg
Description
The Adam PTSplus 2000 is a pallet truck with a built-in weighing system: a 2000 kg x 0.5 kg scale on a pallet jack with steel forks, non-marring polyurethane wheels and a zero-radius pivoting handle. It lets warehouse, shipping and production staff weigh goods while moving them, so weighing does not need a separate stop at a platform scale.
Weigh while you move pallets
The indicator on the PTSplus is IP67 rated against water and dust, with a splash-proof housing and keypad that are easy to clean. A backlit LCD with 40 mm digits changes colour to show checkweighing status, and a capacity tracker helps the operator avoid overloads. Colour-coded keys, an audible overload alarm and programmable backlight modes (always on, always off, or only when weighing) make everyday use simpler.
The functions include weighing, parts counting with preset sample sizes, percentage weighing, checkweighing with alarm and selectable digital filtering for dynamic or animal weighing. Zero tracking returns the display to zero, and an RS-232 interface connects a printer or computer. The scale can be calibrated externally with test weights, the wheels swivel for easy movement and the backlight can be set to save the battery, while a programmable auto power-off adds to the runtime between charges.

Fit for stores, dispatch and production floors
The 2000 kg capacity and 1150 mm forks match standard pallets. Because the scale weighs through the truck, consistent results depend on a level floor, loads centred on the forks and the truck at rest when the reading is taken. Weigh a known test mass before a shift and use the external calibration as needed. Adam lists a thermal printer (ATP), an impact printer (AIP), an RS-232 cable and USB adapter, an in-use wet cover, the AdamDU data collection program and a calibration certificate as accessories.
What to confirm before ordering
Confirm the maximum pallet weight with margin, the floor surface and gradient, the need for a printer or software link, the mains supply for the hard-wired charger and the operating range of -10 to 40 C. The datasheet does not list a legal-for-trade approval for the PTSplus, so confirm this for trade use. See also portable test and measurement instruments and the Mettler Toledo IND780 industrial weighing terminal for fixed weighing installations.
Daily use: load the pallet onto the forks centrally, stop the truck on level ground and wait for the stable indicator before reading, particularly when moving between ramps and different floor surfaces. The capacity tracker on the display shows how close the load is to the 2000 kg maximum, and the colour-changing backlight supports quick over, under and OK decisions at dispatch. The unit can be calibrated externally with test weights and the IP67 indicator can be wiped down after use. Where weights are recorded, connect a printer or computer through the RS-232 port so each result is logged.
Key features of the PTSplus 2000
- Weighing built into the pallet truck: goods are weighed during handling, removing a trip to a floor scale and the double handling that goes with it.
- IP67 indicator: the sealed indicator can be wiped down or washed, which suits food, chemical and dusty environments.
- Colour-changing backlight: checkweighing status is visible at a distance, so an operator can see under, accept or over results without reading the digits.
- Capacity tracker and overload alarm: the operator sees how close the load is to the limit, which helps protect the load cells.
- Multiple weighing modes: parts counting, percentage weighing and dynamic filtering extend the scale beyond simple gross weight.
- RS-232 output: results can be printed on a ticket or sent to a computer for dispatch records.
Typical uses
Common tasks include checking outbound pallet weights against freight declarations, verifying incoming deliveries against supplier documents, weighing scrap and waste for disposal records, and counting boxed parts on a pallet using a known sample weight. In production, the scale can confirm the weight of filled bags, drums or cartons before they leave the line. Because the truck moves with the goods, the same unit can be used at receiving in the morning and at dispatch in the afternoon.
Good practice for accurate results
- Take readings on a flat, level part of the floor, not on ramps or dock plates.
- Lower the forks fully and allow the reading to stabilise before recording it.
- Centre the pallet on the forks and avoid loads that overhang the fork tips.
- Zero the scale with the forks empty at the start of each shift.
- Check against a known reference weight regularly and recalibrate externally when results drift.
- Charge the battery at the end of each shift and use the backlight and auto power-off settings to extend runtime.
- Avoid driving over cables, rails or deep floor joints with a load on the forks, as shock loads can damage load cells.
Use in Oman and GCC warehouses
Logistics hubs in Sohar, Duqm and Salalah, as well as distribution centres around Muscat, handle export and import cargo where weight records are needed for shipping documents and customs. Many warehouses in the region are not air-conditioned, so keep the operating temperature range of the scale in mind and store and charge the truck in a cooler area where summer temperatures exceed it. Dust from loading yards should be cleaned from the wheels and fork area regularly.
