Using it in the field
A mixed 4-in 4-out layout suits small stations such as a pneumatic gripper, a clamp with two sensors, or a valve with feedback. It stays in the 32 x 144 x 32 mm S1 housing, so it fits into narrow frames. Outputs are short-circuit proof at 2.0 A per channel, the housing is glass-fibre reinforced and fully potted, and input diagnostics are reported per group. Choose the S2 or L-series blocks when each port needs individual supply diagnostics or M12 connectors.
For commissioning, load the device description for your controller, check the supply voltage at the far end of long cable runs, set the I/O diagnostics you want mapped, and test every channel with a real sensor or load. Keep the Quick Start Guide at hand for firmware, web server and Ex-area notes.
Selection check before ordering
Derived from the datasheet titles: TBEN is the Turck block Ethernet family, S1 and S2 are the compact 32 mm wide housings with M8 connections, L4 and L5 are the larger housings with M12 connections (L4 with a 4-pin and L5 with a 5-pin 7/8-inch supply connector in the feature list), DIP means digital PNP inputs, DOP digital PNP outputs and IOL IO-Link master channels. Ident number 6814021 identifies this exact module.
Points to confirm with us before ordering: the number and type of channels, the fieldbus protocol and firmware needed by your PLC, the supply connector, the connector style (M8 or M12) of your sensors and valves, and any hazardous-area conditions in the Quick Start Guide. Everything in the table comes from the datasheet as published, so the maker document is the final reference.

About brand
Turck is the German automation company for sensors, connectivity, fieldbus I/O and interface technology. It grew from Hans Turck's engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr: in 1965 a chemical plant ordered an isolation amplifier for intrinsically safe circuits, and the first 20 units were built by his brother Werner Turck in Halver. The family-owned Turck group is still headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with production in Halver and other sites.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Turck sensors and I/O devices for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1965: An order from a German chemical plant for an amplifier module starts the business; Werner Turck builds the first 20 units.
- 1970: Hans Turck KG and Werner Turck KG are registered as separate companies.
- 1975: Hans Turck KG opens its building in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
- 1994: Turck Holding combines the two Turck companies under one roof.
Turck product series
Most of the Turck products here are inductive proximity sensors: threaded M12, M18 and M30 barrels in flush (BI) and non-flush (NI) versions, uprated-range (U) sensors, rectangular CP40 and CP80 housings and BIM magnetic-field sensors for detecting pistons in pneumatic cylinders. The type code describes the sensor; in BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI means flush mounting, 5 is the switching distance in mm, AP6X a three-wire PNP output and H1141 the M12 connector.
Turck also makes RU ultrasonic sensors, PS pressure, TS temperature and LS level sensors, FCI inline flow sensors, the CMVT vibration and temperature sensor for condition monitoring over IO-Link, and fieldbus and Ethernet I/O modules and communication components.
Where Turck sensors are used
Position detection on conveyors, packaging machines, presses and robotic cells; level, pressure and temperature monitoring on hydraulic units and process skids; and vibration monitoring on motors, pumps and fans.
