Typical use and installation notes
Managed functions are extensive according to the datasheet: VLAN, QoS, SNMP v1 to v3, RSTP and MSTP, IGMP, LLDP, NAT, a firewall and PTP time synchronisation. Put it in the field to bring cameras, I/O blocks and IO-Link masters on to a plant network without a switch cabinet. With 4.8 W typical power dissipation, an 8 to 30 VDC supply and IP65, IP67 and IP69K ratings, it can be installed near the equipment it serves. On a plant network the switch can segment traffic with VLANs, prioritise time-critical frames with QoS and report status through SNMP, while the same module also behaves as a PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP device so the controller can read its diagnostics. The datasheet gives 192.168.1.254 as the default web-server address, which is worth knowing before commissioning on a network with another address range.
Installation hint: mount the switch on a flat surface with the fixing holes, feed it from a suitable 24 VDC supply through the 7/8-inch connector, and cap unused M12 ports to keep the rated protection. Plan the VLAN, RSTP and addressing scheme before connecting field devices to the network.
Ordering code and what to confirm
TBEN-L5 is the larger-housing block Ethernet family; SE-M2 is the managed-switch type. The datasheet lists 8 x 100 Mbit M12 D-coded ports and 2 x 1 Gbit M12 X-coded ports. Ident number 100004425 identifies this exact version.
Please check any hazardous-area conditions in the Quick Start Guide, the port count and speed against your network design, the power connector, and the managed functions your network team needs before you place an order. The figures above follow the manufacturer datasheet, and any later datasheet revision from the maker takes precedence.

About brand
Turck is the German automation company for sensors, connectivity, fieldbus I/O and interface technology. It grew from Hans Turck's engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr: in 1965 a chemical plant ordered an isolation amplifier for intrinsically safe circuits, and the first 20 units were built by his brother Werner Turck in Halver. The family-owned Turck group is still headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with production in Halver and other sites.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Turck sensors and I/O devices for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1965: An order from a German chemical plant for an amplifier module starts the business; Werner Turck builds the first 20 units.
- 1970: Hans Turck KG and Werner Turck KG are registered as separate companies.
- 1975: Hans Turck KG opens its building in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
- 1994: Turck Holding combines the two Turck companies under one roof.
Turck product series
Most of the Turck products here are inductive proximity sensors: threaded M12, M18 and M30 barrels in flush (BI) and non-flush (NI) versions, uprated-range (U) sensors, rectangular CP40 and CP80 housings and BIM magnetic-field sensors for detecting pistons in pneumatic cylinders. The type code describes the sensor; in BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI means flush mounting, 5 is the switching distance in mm, AP6X a three-wire PNP output and H1141 the M12 connector.
Turck also makes RU ultrasonic sensors, PS pressure, TS temperature and LS level sensors, FCI inline flow sensors, the CMVT vibration and temperature sensor for condition monitoring over IO-Link, and fieldbus and Ethernet I/O modules and communication components.
Where Turck sensors are used
Position detection on conveyors, packaging machines, presses and robotic cells; level, pressure and temperature monitoring on hydraulic units and process skids; and vibration monitoring on motors, pumps and fans.
