Minimax Zonecheck Sprinkler Flow Switch Test Unit
Description
Test sprinkler flow switches in one minute without discharge
The Minimax Zonecheck is a device for fast functional testing of flow switches in sprinkler systems. It combines the flow switch and an automatic test system in one unit, so the flow switch can be tested remotely while the sprinkler system stays ready for operation.
When Zonecheck is switched on, water in the system is pumped around the flow switch in a circular movement to simulate the flow of one open sprinkler head. A light at the key switch or at the control panel confirms activation of the flow switch. One person can run the test in a maximum of one minute without disturbing the building, and without using fresh water.

Applications and benefits
Minimax recommends Zonecheck wherever flow switches are required, especially for sprinkler wet systems used for life safety to VdS/CEA 4001 such as theatres, multi-storey and high-rise buildings, and complex pipework. Several flow switches can be activated from one key switch or a control panel, and activation and identification can optionally be extended with MX loop technology.
- Simplified routine testing from a central location
- Test time of a maximum of one minute
- Functional test without operating the sprinkler fire pump
- Closed water circulation, no fresh water used and no corrosion from fresh water oxygen
- Year on year cost savings versus the prescribed quarterly flow switch tests
The flow switch contacts are rated 10 A at 125/230 VAC and 2.5 A at 24 VDC with IP54, and the flow switch triggers between 30 and 57 l/min with a delay of 0 to 30 s. The sheet prints approval marks with a note that approvals relate to DN 50 to DN 150, so ask us for the certificate that covers your size. The retrofit kit is an automatic test device with pump and spot-drilled clips for existing sprinkler pipework; the key switch or control panel is ordered separately.
What to confirm before ordering
The datasheet gives overall dimensions per nominal width, so confirm the DN size, left or right handed assembly, and whether you need a complete unit or the retrofit kit for existing flow switches. For deluge systems see the Minimax FSX deluge valve set.

About brand
Minimax is a German fire protection company that designs, builds and services fire detection and extinguishing systems for industrial plants, power stations, data centres, warehouses and transport. The brand goes back to 1902, when Wilhelm Graaff launched his conical hand-held Minimax fire extinguisher. Today Minimax is part of the Minimax Viking Group, headquartered in Bad Oldesloe, Germany.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Oman and lists Minimax fire control panels, detectors, a deluge valve set and the MxSysCon fire control configuration software, supplied with its licence dongle. We also take inquiries for Minimax fire protection components and spare parts identified by part number.
Minimax company profile
| Founded | 1902, when Wilhelm Graaff introduced the conical Minimax hand fire extinguisher |

Milestones
- 1902: Wilhelm Graaff launches the conical Minimax hand fire extinguisher.
- 1955: The British Pyrene company buys Minimax.
- 1969: Preussag AG acquires Minimax and merges it with Selbsttätige Feuerlöschanlagen Gesellschaft of Hamburg.
- 2009: Minimax acquires the Viking Corporation, forming the Minimax Viking Group.
- 2014: IK Investment Partners sells the group to KIRKBI and Intermediate Capital Group.
- 2018: ICG raises its stake to more than 90 % as KIRKBI exits.
Minimax systems the software and parts belong to
The manufacturer's program covers fire detection and extinguishing control panels of the FMZ family and HELIOS aspirating smoke detectors. On the extinguishing side it builds deluge and other water-based systems, Minifog water mist, Oxeo inert gas and carbon dioxide systems, and spark extinguishing. Panel configuration software is tied to a specific panel generation. We did not find the name MxSysCon in the manufacturer's public documents, so the software version has to be checked against your panel type.

Ordering Minimax items: what we need
Send the Minimax part number, the type and firmware version of the control panel, and a photo of the panel label. For detectors, nozzles or valves, add the nameplate data and the approval the project specifies. Minimax systems are engineered per site, so a component is only correct when it matches the original system documents. We check that match for buyers across the GCC before the order is placed.
Facts checked against published company histories and the 2014 and 2018 ownership announcements, October 2026.
