Hilti TE 70-ATC/AVR SDS Max Combihammer

The Hilti TE 70-ATC/AVR is a mains-powered SDS Max (TE-Y) combihammer for heavy hammer drilling and chiselling in concrete, masonry and natural stone. It pairs a 14.5 J single impact energy with Active Torque Control, which stops the tool body from spinning if a large bit jams in rebar, and Active Vibration Reduction to keep operator vibration down during long coring and anchor-hole programmes.

Built for large anchor holes and breaching in structural concrete

Hilti positions this tool for drilling holes for heavy-duty anchors from 20 to 40 mm in diameter, for hammer drilling with bits from 12 to 150 mm, and for breaching and demolition with pointed and flat chisels. For plant and infrastructure work in the Gulf, that means base-plate anchors for pumps, pipe-rack and cable-tray supports, and openings through slabs and walls where a lighter SDS Plus tool would stall.

A brushless SR motor and a double-chamber lubrication system are named by the manufacturer as the basis for long service intervals. The supply cord is detachable, so a damaged cord can be replaced on site without returning the tool. A power-reduction function lets the operator drop to half power for chiselling or for starting a hole, and the control switch can be locked on while chiselling.

Power supply, generators and what to check before ordering

The operating instruction states that rated voltage, current, frequency and input power are on the country-specific rating plate, and that a generator or transformer must deliver at least twice the rated input power shown on the plate. The supply voltage must stay within +5 percent and -15 percent of the tool rating. This matters on remote Omani sites where a small genset feeds several tools at once.

Hilti lists the tool in voltage-specific kits; the UAE page shows a 110 V kit (item 2172140) with a 4 m supply cord and tool case, so confirm that a 230 V version with the correct plug is the one you are quoting. Always use genuine Hilti grease on the bit shank, and confirm the chisel or drill-bit shank is SDS Max (TE-Y) before ordering accessories.
