Hilti TE 1000-AVR TE-S Electric Demolition Hammer

Description

The Hilti TE 1000-AVR is a mains-powered TE-S demolition hammer with a 26 J single impact energy and 1950 impacts per minute, built in-line for floor breaking with a side handle for occasional wall work. At 12.5 kg it sits in the middle of the Hilti breaker range, heavier than the SDS Max chipping hammers and far more manageable than the 27 kg TE 3000-AVR jackhammer.

A floor and wall breaker for renovation and corrective chiselling

Hilti lists demolishing concrete and masonry at floor level or below waist height, renovating floors of all kinds, removing tiles, bushing and compacting, and corrective chiselling such as widening door and window openings. The manufacturer gives a maximum chiselling performance of 7800 cm3 per minute.

A maintenance-free brushless SR motor, a triple-chamber lubrication system and the Hilti AVR sub-chassis are the stated basis for long service intervals and low vibration; the product page quotes 5.9 m/s2 triaxial vibration for chiselling in concrete and an 88 dB(A) sound pressure level. The supply cord is detachable, so it can be replaced on the job site, and an optional TE DRS-B dust removal system collects up to 95 percent of dust according to Hilti.

Supply, generators and selecting the right Hilti breaker

The operating instruction directs users to the country-specific rating plate for voltage, current, frequency and input power, and says a generator or transformer must provide at least twice the rated input power with voltage held within +5 percent and -15 percent of the tool rating. On sites that run breakers from small gensets, that rule decides how many tools can run at once.

To choose between models, compare impact energy and chuck: the TE-S chuck of the TE 800-AVR, TE 1000-AVR and TE 2000-AVR takes TE-S chisels, while the SDS Max models take TE-Y tools and the TE 3000-AVR takes TE-H (HEX 28). Confirm chisel type, voltage version and plug when requesting a quotation.

The operating instruction gives the product generation as 02 and measures weight and impact energy under EPTA procedures 01 and 05, which is the basis for comparing it with the TE 800-AVR (21 J, 10.6 kg) and TE 2000-AVR (35 J, 14.5 kg) in the table below.

Hilti breakers and chipping hammers compared

The corded and cordless demolition tools listed by Hilti differ mainly in chuck type, impact energy and weight.

TE 800-AVR TE-S 21 J 10.6 kg
TE 1000-AVR TE-S 26 J 12.5 kg
TE 2000-AVR TE-S 35 J 14.5 kg
TE 3000-AVR TE-H (Hilti HEX 28) 85 J 27.1 kg

TE 2000-22 (cordless) TE-S 38.2 J 17.4 kg tool body

Key features of the TE 1000-AVR in daily use

  • 26 J single impact energy at 1950 impacts per minute – enough energy for slab breaking, screed removal and tile stripping without moving up to a full jackhammer.
  • In-line body with side handle – the tool is designed primarily for floor work, while the side handle allows occasional work on walls such as enlarging openings.
  • Brushless SR motor – Hilti describes the motor as maintenance-free, which removes carbon brush replacement from the service routine.
  • Triple-chamber lubrication – separates the lubrication of the hammering mechanism and gearing, which Hilti links to longer service intervals.
  • AVR active vibration reduction – the sub-chassis isolates the handles from the percussion mechanism, giving the stated 5.9 m/s² triaxial vibration value for chiselling in concrete.
  • Detachable supply cord – a damaged cord can be swapped on site rather than sending the whole tool for repair.
  • Dust removal option – the TE DRS-B system can be fitted where silica dust exposure has to be controlled.

Choosing chisels for the TE-S chuck

The TE-S chuck accepts Hilti TE-S insert tools only, so chisels from SDS-max (TE-Y) or HEX 28 (TE-H) tools cannot be shared with this breaker. For most concrete and masonry work the following chisel shapes are used:

  • Pointed chisel – general breaking of concrete slabs and masonry, starting cracks in thick sections.
  • Flat chisel – controlled cutting along an edge, trimming openings and splitting blocks.
  • Wide flat or tile chisel – lifting floor tiles, removing screed and adhesive beds.
  • Bushing tool – roughening concrete surfaces before a new topping or repair mortar is applied.
  • Tamper or compacting plate – compacting soil or fill in small areas, which Hilti lists among the applications of the tool.

Self-sharpening chisels keep their working edge longer than conventional chisels, which matters on large renovation jobs where regrinding is not practical. When you send an enquiry, list the chisel shapes and lengths you need together with the tool so that the complete set can be quoted.

Using the breaker on Oman and GCC job sites

Renovation, refurbishment and maintenance work in Muscat, Sohar, Duqm and across the GCC often takes place on sites powered by portable generators, and outdoor work can involve high ambient temperatures and fine dust. A few practical points help to keep the breaker productive:

  • Size the generator according to the operating instruction rule of at least twice the rated input power, and keep the voltage within the permitted tolerance. Long, thin extension cables cause voltage drop and reduce performance.
  • Use the TE DRS-B dust removal system or an appropriate dust extraction method together with suitable respiratory protection when breaking concrete indoors.
  • Let the weight of the tool do the work. Excessive feed pressure does not increase removal rate and adds strain on the operator.
  • Keep the chuck and chisel shank clean and lightly greased with the lubricant specified by Hilti to reduce wear in dusty conditions.
  • Store the tool in its case away from direct sun when not in use, and inspect the cord and plug before every shift.
  • Wear hearing protection; the stated sound pressure level is 88 dB(A).

Inspection and maintenance

Even with a brushless motor, a demolition hammer needs regular inspection. Check the side handle and its clamping, the condition of the insert tool locking mechanism, the ventilation slots and the supply cord. Worn chisels with mushroomed or damaged shanks should be replaced, because they can damage the chuck. Service work on the percussion mechanism should be carried out by a qualified Hilti service centre according to the operating instruction.

About brand

Hilti is a construction technology company founded in 1941 by the brothers Eugen and Martin Hilti in Schaan, Liechtenstein, where it is still headquartered. Its products cover power tools and cordless systems, anchoring and fastening, firestop and modular support systems, measuring tools and the services around them.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Hilti power tools and firestop products, each with the manufacturer operating instructions, for contractors and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Hilti product series

The power tools listed here include SDS Plus and SDS Max rotary and combihammers (TE 8-22, TE 70-22, TE 70-ATC/AVR), demolition hammers and breakers (TE 1000-AVR, TE 2000-22, TE 3000-AVR), angle grinders from 125 to 230 mm (AG 125-13S, AG 230-24D, AG 4D-22, AG 30D-22), cordless impact wrenches (SIW 6AT-22, SIW 10-22, SIW 20-22), the SF 30M-22 magnetic drill press, the SF 6H-22 hammer drill driver and the SC 6ML-22 metal-cutting circular saw.
