Description
Finned high bay LED luminaire that replaces discharge lamps up to 400 W
The Cortem FLOWEX is a high bay and low bay LED luminaire for atmospheres with explosion risk. Cortem positions it as the LED alternative wherever low and medium power discharge fixtures up to 400 W were previously installed, and offers three body sizes with outputs from about 4,800 to almost 28,000 lumens.
The die-cast aluminium body has cooling fins that act as a heat sink for the LED board. Cortem says the geometry of the fins is designed to minimise deposits of combustible dust and to let air or water self-clean the luminaire. The FLOWEX-ME version is for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 with Ex db eb mb protection, and the FLOWEX-MN is for Zones 2, 21 and 22 with Ex nR protection.

Real power draw is slightly different from rated power, for example 32.8 W for the 30 W rating. The same table is repeated for the FLOWEX-MN versions.
Planning a retrofit and installing the luminaire
When replacing a metal-halide or high-pressure sodium fitting, compare delivered lumens on the floor rather than lamp wattage, and use the supplier photometric data to check uniformity. The fixing bracket is galvanised steel and the finned body is relatively light for its output, which can simplify mounting on existing brackets.
Check the supply voltage against the size, because sizes 060 and 080 take 120 to 277 VAC and size 100 takes 100 to 277 VAC. Use certified glands and plugs, observe the temperature class at the highest ambient, and keep the optional protective guard in mind where impact is possible.
