EWM Titan XQ 400 puls D Multi-Process MIG/MAG Welding Machine

Description

Decompact pulse MIG/MAG power source for heavy fabrication

The EWM Titan XQ 400 puls D is the decompact version of the Titan XQ 400 puls, which means the power source is paired with a separate Drive XQ wire feeder on an interconnection hose package. It is a multi-process machine: standard and pulse MIG/MAG are the main processes, and EWM includes its rootArc, coldArc, forceArc and wiredArc process variants in the purchase price rather than selling them as upgrades.

EWM describes the series for unalloyed to high-alloy steel and aluminium in all material thicknesses and positions. The separate feeder lets the welder work at a distance from the power source, for example on large weldments, while the power source stays on the floor.

Technical data for the 400 puls power source

The values below come from the EWM brochure technical data page for the 400 puls model. Dimensions refer to the complete machine on its trolley.

The Drive XQ feeder is listed with a wire feed speed of 0.5 to 25 m/min, a four-roll drive with 37 mm rolls, a Euro torch connector and 200 mm to 300 mm spools. Its own rating is 470 A at 100% duty cycle.

Processes and welding management

rootArc is aimed at root passes, coldArc at heat-reduced welding of thin sheet, forceArc at a concentrated high-performance arc with deep penetration, and wiredArc at stable penetration through dynamic wire control. Pulse versions of these processes are included as well.

The machine is prepared for the ewm Xnet welding management system, which records welding data and allows the welder to call up WPS documents on a mobile device. Xnet is a separate software product, so state it in the enquiry if weld-data recording is required.

Selecting and installing a decompact Titan XQ set

A working set needs more than the power source. Specify the Drive XQ feeder, the length of the interconnection hose package, the torch type and whether the torch is gas- or water-cooled. Water-cooled torches need the integrated cooling circuit; the coolant tank holds 8 litres.

Check the site supply against the three-phase input range and fuse rating before installation. On generator power, EWM recommends a generator of at least 23.8 kVA for this model. For long production welds, base the selection on the 370 A continuous rating rather than the 400 A maximum.

Documents and quotation

The attached EWM brochure covers the whole Titan XQ puls family, including the decompact and compact versions, the Drive XQ feeder and the welding processes. For a quotation, send the required configuration, site voltage, cooling type, hose package length, wire material and diameter, and shielding gas. About brand
EWM is a German manufacturer of arc welding equipment, founded in 1957 and headquartered in Mündersbach in the Westerwald region. Its range covers MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA power sources, welding torches, consumables and automation, supported by the ewm Xnet welding management software. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and lists the EWM Titan XQ 400 puls D multi-process MIG/MAG machine. EWM product groups The manual welding program includes the Titan XQ, Phoenix and Taurus MIG/MAG families, TIG and electrode machines, wire feeders and torches. EWM also offers cobot and robot welding systems, welding consumables and accessories. The headquarters houses research and development, production and quality assurance across three plants, with further factories in China and the Czech Republic. Ordering EWM equipment: what we need Give the full machine designation, including compact or decompact version and gas or water cooling, plus the mains voltage at site. List the wire feeder, interconnection hose package length, torch and any remote control you need. For a replacement unit, send a photo of the rating plate. We check the configuration against EWM documentation before quoting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the D in Titan XQ 400 puls D mean?
D stands for the decompact version, where the power source works with a separate Drive XQ wire feeder on an interconnection hose package.
What is the continuous rating of the Titan XQ 400 puls?
EWM gives 370 A at 100% duty cycle and 400 A at 80% duty cycle at 40 °C ambient temperature.
Which mains supply does it need?
Three-phase 400 V to 500 V at 50/60 Hz, with a 3 x 25 A slow-blow fuse at 400 V.
Are the EWM pulse processes included?
Yes. EWM states that rootArc, coldArc, forceArc and wiredArc, including the pulse variants, are included in the machine price.
Is the wire feeder included with the power source?
Feeder, hose package and torch are specified separately. List each item in the enquiry so the quotation covers a complete set.
