OTC Daihen Welbee II P500L Pulse MIG Welding Power Source

Description

A 500 A pulse MIG power source with low-spatter and high duty cycle

The OTC Daihen Welbee II P500L (power source model WB-P502L) is a 500 A inverter MIG/MAG power source offering DC, DC pulse, DC WavePulse and low-spatter DC welding on steel, stainless steel and aluminium. OTC Daihen builds its Welbee series around a custom LSI/ASIC weld processor with a stated 20 nanosecond response, and says the P500L II reduces spatter across the whole range from low to high current. It is the high-output member of the Welbee II family, aimed at heavy fabrication and automated cells where a high duty cycle matters.

The bracketed values are printed in the OTC Daihen brochure without further explanation, so confirm the applicable rating with the manufacturer for your torch and wire. Applicable wire diameters for the CM-743U feeder are 0.9, 1.0 and 1.2 mm as standard, with 0.8, 1.4 and 1.6 mm available through optional parts.

Pulse, WavePulse and low-spatter modes

Pulse welding controls the droplet transfer by switching between a high peak current and a lower background current, which keeps heat input low and spatter small on thin sections and positional welds. According to the brochure, Welbee pulse control is refined for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, with controlled droplet transfer giving good beads even on viscous stainless wire. The CBT-EX mode is a DC low-spatter process for carbon and stainless steels and needs the optional voltage detection adapter on the wire feeder. OTC Daihen also lists the J-Solution option for zinc-coated steels and a welding guide function that proposes conditions from the joint type and plate thickness.

The 100 stored welding programs, the large LCD panel and the welding results display, which reports time, wire consumption and heat input after each weld, support repeatable production. A side-flow cooling design separates the electronics from dust, and compressed air can be used for cleaning without removing the covers.

About brand
OTC Daihen builds the two halves of an automated welding cell under one name: the arc welding robot and the power source that feeds it. Its focus is arc welding equipment and welding robots. Seven Star LLC lists the OTC Daihen WB-A350P Welbee AC/DC pulse TIG welder and supplies OTC Daihen welding equipment to fabricators in Oman on inquiry.

OTC Daihen Welbee power sources and robots

Welbee is the family name of the OTC Daihen digital inverter welding power sources. The WB-A350P in our listing is the AC/DC pulse TIG member of that family, the type of machine used where both aluminum and steel are welded. On the automation side the manufacturer offers six-axis and seven-axis arc welding robots, welding cobots, controllers, positioners and sensors, and complete robotic welding cells.

Ordering OTC Daihen equipment: what we need

Send the model from the rating plate, the mains voltage, phase and frequency at your site, the torch type and cooling method, and the accessories required such as a foot control or water cooler. For parts, add the machine serial number. Supply voltage differs between GCC countries and between workshops, so please state it.
