Safety Jogger Gobi S1P is a lightweight steel toe safety shoe with a puncture-resistant steel midsole, a slip-resistant grip and breathable comfort, as described on the sheet. The upper is suede leather over a 100% recycled mesh lining, and the outsole is PU/PU. A tested sample weighs 0.670 kg.

Reading the Gobi test results
Safety Jogger describes S1P as the choice when you work in dry environments, with no risk of water or liquid sprays, and need toe protection, protection against perforation and good breathability. The suede upper and its water vapour permeability of 11.7 mg/cm2/h agree with that.
Two results are close to their limits and are worth knowing: the SRA flat friction of 0.32 equals the minimum of 0.32 and the SRB flat friction of 0.18 equals 0.18, and outsole abrasion is 127 mm3 against a limit of 150. The shoe passes, but it has among the smallest slip and wear margins of the group. It suits dry floors rather than wet ones.
Care of suede safety shoes
Brush suede with a soft brush and use a protective product suitable for suede. The sheet advises regular cleaning and protection with adequate products, and says never to dry the shoes on a radiator or near a heat source.
Safety Jogger describes antistatic footwear as preventing the build-up of static electrical charges and making sure they are discharged effectively, and heel energy absorption as reducing the impact of jumps or running on the body of the wearer; the printed values are 16.3 MOhm and 27 J. The footbed is removable. Replace the shoes when the outsole tread is worn smooth, since slip resistance depends on tread, and after any impact that dents the steel toecap.
Warehouses, workshops and light industry
The sheet lists automotive, construction, logistics and general industry. As a low-cut S1P shoe, it fits light assembly, pallet handling, inspection rounds and installation work in dry buildings, particularly where the wearer needs a light shoe for long walking distances. The sheet gives no wet-condition marking for this model, so floors that are washed down or sprayed need a different boot.
Selection and care notes
S1P is for dry sites, with a steel toecap and puncture-resistant midsole, and it does not give water resistance. Use another category where the floor is wet. Check the size and width, brush off dust and mud and replace the shoe when the sole or toecap is damaged. The edition of the standard printed on the data sheet is the one to quote in the specification.
