Brand:

Raytek Thermalert 4.0 Fixed Infrared Pyrometer Series

Description

A compact stainless steel pyrometer family for continuous non-contact temperature

The Raytek Thermalert 4.0 is a fixed-mount infrared pyrometer series in a compact stainless steel housing for continuous process temperature measurement. One mechanical design is offered in many spectral versions, so the same installation approach serves metals, glass, plastics and combustion processes between -40 and 2300 degC.

It is aimed at buyers who need a sensor that survives hot plant environments. Ambient temperature rating reaches 85 degC with no cooling, 120 degC with air cooling, 175 degC with water cooling and 315 degC with a ThermoJacket enclosure, and the housing is IP65 / NEMA 4.

Picking the spectral model

Spectral response determines whether the sensor reads the target correctly. The model families span general surfaces (LT, 8 to 14 um), glass-range wavelengths (G5, G7), plastic-range wavelengths (P7, P3), metals (MT, HT, 3M, 2M, 1M) and flame detection (C02, C0, NOX). The short-wave 1M and 2M models offer response down to 10 ms. Select by target material and temperature, not by temperature alone.

The interface also matters. The 2-wire version needs only a current loop, and a HART option is mentioned on the product page. The 6-wire and 12-wire versions add RS485, thermocouple or voltage outputs, with alarm, trigger and analog input for emissivity and background compensation. The 4-wire version connects to industrial Ethernet and is powered by PoE.

Installation and what to confirm before ordering

Confirm the full model name (for example LT-30, G5-70 or 2M-150), back panel type, sighting option, required optics (the datasheet lists focus distances and smallest spot sizes per model), the ambient temperature at the mounting point and whether an intrinsically safe version is required. Cooling, mounting brackets and the ThermoJacket are separate accessories. See also the Raytek Compact CI pyrometer for a smaller fixed unit, or browse temperature instrumentation products.

About brand

Raytek is the name on a long line of non-contact infrared temperature sensors, today presented by the manufacturer under Fluke Process Instruments. Seven Star LLC lists the Raytek Compact CI infrared spot pyrometer and supplies Raytek fixed-mount pyrometers to manufacturing and process plants in Oman. The Compact CI is a small sensor meant to be built into machines and production lines.

Raytek pyrometer families

The manufacturer's current range keeps the Raytek name on the Compact CI and CM sensors, the Compact MI3 with its multi-sensor design, the Marathon MM with high-resolution optics, and the handheld Raynger 3i Plus. The Compact CI and CM are described as rugged, easy to install units for OEM and end-user applications. The Thermalert 4.0 and Endurance series cover wider spectral and temperature needs.

Ordering Raytek sensors: what we need

Send the full model code from the sensor label, since it fixes the temperature range, the output type and the cable length. For a new measuring point, give the target material and surface, the temperature span, the distance and target size, and the ambient temperature at the sensor. Mention accessories such as air purge collars or mounting brackets. GCC inquiries are welcome.
