Vaisala products by category

Humidity is hard to measure well, and Vaisala has specialized in it since 1936. The Finnish company makes probes and transmitters for relative humidity, dew point, temperature, pressure and carbon dioxide in industrial processes. Seven Star LLC lists the Vaisala Indigo520 transmitter, HMP7 probe, HMT330 transmitter and DMT152 dew point transmitter, and sources Vaisala instruments for process plants in Oman and the GCC.

Vaisala product families

The Indigo line separates probe and transmitter. The Indigo520 takes two Indigo-compatible probes at once and offers four analog outputs, relays and Ethernet in a metal IP66 enclosure, with or without a touchscreen. The HMP7 humidity and temperature probe is one of the probes that connect to it. The HMT330 is the earlier one-piece humidity and temperature transmitter series, and the DMT152 is a compact transmitter for low dew points in dry gases.

Ordering Vaisala instruments: what we need

Vaisala builds each unit to an order code. Send the full code, or the probe type, cable length, output signals, supply voltage, display option and the certificate type required. For dew point, give the expected range and line pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which probes work with the Vaisala Indigo520?
Vaisala states that all Indigo-compatible probes connect to any Indigo transmitter, and the Indigo520 accepts two of them at the same time. That lets one transmitter handle, for example, a humidity probe and a carbon dioxide probe. Older probes that are fixed to their own transmitter, as on the HMT330, do not plug in.
How do I read the order code on a Vaisala HMT330?
The code on the label is a model number followed by a long string of characters. Each position stands for one choice: probe type, cable length, display, outputs, supply, filter and so on. Send the complete string. With it we can identify the exact build in the manufacturer's order form and quote the same configuration.
Should I replace an HMT330 with an Indigo520 and HMP7?
The Indigo520 with an HMP probe is the newer architecture for the same kind of measurement, with a detachable probe. Mounting, wiring and outputs differ, so it is not a drop-in swap. Send the HMT330 order code, and we compare it with the manufacturer's documentation and propose the configuration the manufacturer recommends.
What certificates does Vaisala issue with its instruments?
Vaisala ships its instruments with a factory certificate that records the reference readings for that serial number, and accredited certificates can be selected as an option in the order code for many models. State the level your quality system requires when asking for a quotation, so the right option is included.
Is Seven Star LLC a distributor of Vaisala?
No. Seven Star LLC is an independent industrial supplier based in Muscat. We source Vaisala probes and transmitters through commercial channels, check the model or order code against the manufacturer's documentation before ordering, and provide the manufacturer's datasheet and the certificates the manufacturer issues with the order, on request.
