Operating Principle

The portable power bank stores energy in its 24,000 mAh lithium-ion battery and delivers it through several outputs. An internal inverter converts the battery’s DC energy into 110 V AC for the AC outlet, up to 65 W, so that devices with standard wall plugs can be powered directly. The DC output supplies 9–12.6 V at up to 10 A, and the USB ports provide 5 V at 2.1 A and quick-charge output of 5 V/3 A or 9 V/2 A for phones and tablets. Several devices can be powered at once.

The AC output must be switched on and off manually. To save energy, if only the DC output is switched on and no load is connected, the unit turns itself off after about 20 seconds. The important practical limit is power: the AC outlet can only run devices that draw less than 65 W, so users should check the rated power of a laptop or other appliance before connecting it. Equipment with motors or compressors, such as air compressors, needs a larger power station.

Engineering Design of the Portable Power Bank Kit

The unit measures 6.89 × 3.98 × 1.89 in and is built with a battery management system (BMS) that provides short-circuit, over-current, over-voltage and overload protection. It can be recharged in three ways: from the supplied wall AC adapter (DC 15 V/2 A max), from a DC5521 solar input accepting 13–16 V, or from a 12 V car socket using the supplied charging cable. A built-in flashlight offers a reading mode and an SOS mode for emergencies.

The 30 W foldable solar panel folds to 12.7 × 8.4 × 0.3 in and provides a DC output of 15 V/2 A max, a USB-A port (5 V/3 A, 9 V/2 A, 12 V/1.5 A) and a USB-C port (5 V/3 A, 9 V/2 A, 12 V/1.5 A), together with a 10-in-1 connector kit. The panel can therefore recharge the portable power bank or charge small devices directly. Note that the panel’s junction box is not waterproof and must be kept dry.
