Deye SUN-110K-G03 110 kW Three-Phase 6-MPPT String Inverter

The Deye SUN-110K-G03 is the largest grid-tied string inverter in Deye’s G03 series. It converts 110 kW of three-phase AC from up to 150 kW of PV through six independent MPP trackers, each with four string inputs. It is aimed at large rooftops, ground-mounted plants and industrial sites where fewer, bigger inverters reduce the number of connection points.

Six trackers with four strings each give 24 string inputs in one cabinet, so a roof with several orientations or shading patterns can be split into independent groups. The datasheet allows up to 150 kW of DC against 110 kW of AC, which suits arrays sized for lower-irradiance hours. With a top efficiency of 98.8% and an altitude rating of 4000 m the unit targets large commercial and utility-scale sites, while the 81 kg frame needs two people or a lifting aid.

Sizing a 110 kW inverter

At 183.3 A maximum per phase, the AC cable, breaker and busbar must be sized for the 110K column and not for the 70K one. One cabinet carries all six ratings, so a design that starts with a smaller unit can often be upgraded by swapping the inverter. Compare the 150 kW PV ceiling with your array: with six trackers and 24 strings, group modules of the same tilt and azimuth on the same tracker.

Installing it

The manual wants a wall or strong frame that can bear the load, an almost vertical mount and ventilation in any enclosed room, with gaps shown on a diagram above, below and between units. It tells installers to keep the inverter away from children and not to store items beside it. Start-up follows the order used by Deye string inverters: AC breaker, PV breaker, inverter switch. Cable and breaker rows are listed per rating, so use the row for 110 kW. With 81 kg to move, plan two people or a hoist.

Utility-scale conditions

Ground-mounted and large-roof plants in the region face heat, dust and long cable runs. Install the 110K in shade where possible, keep the cooling path clean and choose the grid code at commissioning to suit the utility requirement.

Practical notes

A 150 kW PV input against 110 kW of AC gives a ratio of about 1.36. Each of the six trackers carries four strings at 40 A, and the 24 inputs fill the cabinet, so label strings from the start. The unit is 824 mm wide, so measure the wall and the access route before delivery. At 81 kg and the stated 4000 m altitude rating it is suited to large plants and to elevated sites.

Selection and installation notes

A grid-tied string inverter is selected from the array size, the string voltage window and the grid connection. Check the string open-circuit voltage at the lowest site temperature against the input limit and the operating voltage at high temperature against the MPPT window, balance the strings on each tracker, fit DC isolators and surge protection and keep the clearances on the data sheet. In hot sites allow for output derating, shade the unit and have the grid settings approved by the utility before connection.
