Measurement Principle

The 3500 system integrates with a vast array of Bently Nevada sensors, including proximity probes for radial vibration and shaft displacement, seismic and piezo-velocity transducers, accelerometers, RTDs and thermocouples, and dynamic pressure sensors, continuously gathering data on vibration, speed, temperature, pressure, shaft position, and phase angle. Individual monitor modules—such as the 3500/40M Proximitor Monitor, 3500/42M Proximitor/Seismic Monitor, and 3500/25 Keyphasor Module—condition these raw sensor signals into vibration and position measurements and compare them against user-programmable setpoints.

When a monitored parameter crosses its Alert or Danger setpoint, the system drives configurable relay logic through modules such as the 3500/32M 4-Channel or 3500/33 16-Channel Relay Modules, supporting AND/OR voting logic and per-channel latching options.
