SHINKAWA VM-5Z1/IS0 Power Supply
Overview
The Shinkawa VM-5Z1 Power Supply Unit provides stable DC power to the monitor and relay modules within a VM-5 series instrument rack, forming the backbone of the machinery protection system. It accepts a wide range of AC or DC inputs and generates the multiple voltage rails required by VM-5 modules.
Designed for continuous operation in industrial environments, the VM-5Z1 delivers the +5V, +17V, +24V, -15V, and -30V rails needed by VM-5 monitoring electronics, with LED indication of each rail’s status on the front panel.
Engineering & Design
The power supply accepts 85-264 VAC or 88-144 VDC input, covering the electrical supplies found in most industrial plants, and provides an OK alarm contact rated 250VAC 5A / 30VDC 5A for connection to annunciation systems. The relay mode is configurable as normally energized, allowing the alarm philosophy to be matched to the installation.
With a maximum power consumption of 265 VA, the VM-5Z1 is sized to power a fully populated VM-5 rack, and the plastic-sealed construction protects the unit in the rack environment. It operates from 0 to 65 C with storage capability from -30 to +85 C.

A dependable power supply is the foundation of any machinery protection rack, and the Shinkawa VM-5Z1 Power Supply Unit provides that foundation, which is why Seven Star LLC supplies the Shinkawa VM-5Z1 Power Supply Unit for VM-5 installations across the Gulf.
The VM-5Z1 power supply module provides the stabilised DC supply for the Shinkawa monitoring modules, and the module is installed in the standard rack of the system.
The Shinkawa VM-5Z1 power supply provides the DC supply of the VM-5 rack, and the Shinkawa VM-5Z1 power supply is the power supply module of the monitoring system.
The Shinkawa VM-5Z1 power supply module feeds the VM-5 series rack with the stabilized DC voltage and monitors the output for the overvoltage and the undervoltage condition. The module is inserted in the dedicated slot of the rack and the status LED shows the healthy operation. The redundant configuration with two power supply modules is supported for the critical machine trains.
Why Seven Star LLC
Seven Star LLC supplies the Shinkawa VM-5Z1 Power Supply Unit for machinery protection systems across the Gulf, with full documentation and configuration guidance. Our team assists with rack power planning and replacement programmes for existing VM-5 installations.
We support power supply spares, rack expansion, and system upgrades for turbine and compressor monitoring in power, oil and gas, and industrial plants.
Availability & Protection
The wide 85-264 VAC or 88-144 VDC input range allows the VM-5Z1 to operate from either AC or DC plant supplies, simplifying installation in plants with different electrical standards. The front-panel LEDs give maintenance staff immediate visibility of each output rail’s status.
The OK alarm contact connects to the plant annunciation system, alerting operators if the rack power is degraded before machine protection is compromised. With a 265 VA budget and 0 to 65 C operating range, the unit is sized for continuous rack duty.
