Helukabel H01N2-D Arc Welding Cable

Description

The Helukabel H01N2-D is an arc welding cable for the leads between the welding power source, the electrode holder and the workpiece. The conductor is extra-finely stranded bare copper (for example 320 strands of 0.2 mm in 10 mm²), covered by a separation layer and a cross-linked rubber cladding, so the lead stays flexible and tolerates welding light, ozone and oil. It is built to DIN VDE 0285-525-2-81 / DIN EN 50525-2-81 and carries HAR and EAC approvals.

Choosing the lead size

The cable cross-section is chosen from welding current, duty cycle and lead length, and the data sheet table gives the strand build-up, outer diameter range and weight for each size so that reels, cable carriers and strain reliefs can be sized. Helukabel notes the application as connections between the welding energy source and the electrode holder and the workpiece, in dry and damp rooms and for temporary outdoor use. It names automotive and shipbuilding industries, transport, conveyor and assembly-line systems, machine tools and automatic welding machines.

Fine stranding keeps the cable easy to coil and handle, but any cable lug or crimped connector must be sized for the stranding. Check lug and quick-connector compatibility before ordering, since the very fine strand structure of the smaller sizes needs a compression lug for fine-wire conductors. Never run a damaged lead: replace it if copper is exposed.

How the H01N2-D welding cable works

A welding circuit carries high current at low voltage from the power source to the electrode holder and back from the workpiece. The leads are moved by hand, dragged over steel and coiled many times a day, so the conductor must be very flexible and the cladding tough. The H01N2-D uses a bare copper conductor of extra-fine strands, which bends easily and shares the current across many wires. A separation layer over the conductor lets the cladding strip cleanly when a lug is fitted, and the cross-linked rubber cladding resists heat, oil and abrasion better than ordinary PVC.

Where the H01N2-D is used

  • Leads between the welding power source, the electrode holder and the workpiece.
  • Shipyards, steel fabrication and workshops with manual arc welding.
  • Automatic welding machines and robotic cells that need a flexible supply lead.
  • Conveyor and assembly-line systems in the automotive and transport industries.
  • Temporary outdoor use on construction and maintenance jobs.

Selection checklist for the H01N2-D

  • Welding current and duty cycle, which set the cross-section from 10 to 240 mm2.
  • Total lead length, because voltage drop grows with length and lower current at the arc weakens the weld.
  • Outer diameter and weight from the size table, for reels, cable carriers and strain reliefs.
  • Lug or connector type, with a compression lug sized for fine-wire conductors.
  • Temperature range: flexible from -20 to +85 degrees C and fixed from -35 to +85 degrees C.
  • Minimum bending radius of 12 times the outer diameter for flexible use.
  • Exposure to oil, ozone, sparks and mechanical wear at the work site.

Installation, handling and maintenance notes

Keep the bending radius above the minimum and avoid sharp kinks at the lug. Crimp the lugs with the correct tool and die for the strand build-up, then insulate the joint. Do not drive vehicles over the lead or pull it around sharp edges, and inspect the cladding regularly. Replace a lead as soon as copper shows through the cladding, because a damaged lead can short to the workpiece or to a person. Coil the cable loosely after use and store it dry.

Requesting a quotation for the Helukabel H01N2-D

Send the cross-section, the length, the lug type and the quantity. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.

Voltage drop and lead length

A longer lead has a higher resistance and loses more voltage under welding current. For long runs, choose the next larger cross-section so the arc voltage and the heating of the lead stay within limits.

Why rubber cladding is chosen for welding leads

Rubber cladding keeps its flexibility at low temperature and resists hot spatter and oil better than many plastics. This is why welding leads are built with a cross-linked elastomer cladding.

Marking and traceability

Keep the type designation, the cross-section and the batch information on the reel label or the delivery note, so the lead can be matched to the data sheet table later.
