Adam Equipment Aqua ABW-S IP68 Stainless Steel Washdown Scales

The Adam Aqua ABW-S is a compact bench scale with IP68 protection, a grade 304 stainless steel housing and platform and a removable pan. It is designed for wet, dusty or messy locations such as food processing, batching, packaging and laboratories, in capacities from 4 kg to 32 kg.

IP68 protection allows hosing and cleaning of the scale, while the grade 304 stainless steel top housing and pan are easy to clean, and the pan can be removed for hygienic maintenance. The sealed keypad protects against dirt and spills, overload protection helps safeguard the weighing system and heavy-duty rubber feet keep it stable.

Dual 20 mm LED displays at the front and rear let two operators use the same scale, and hidden colour-changing indicators light up during checkweighing to show over, under and within limits. Percentage weighing supports recipe batching and parts counting speeds up packaging; the stabilisation time is 1 second.

Adam lists a hard carrying case with lock and foam insert, a vegetable scoop and a confectionery scoop that fit the scale, and a calibration certificate. External calibration allows verification with test weights; for traceable results keep records of each check. The scale suits portion control, ingredient batching, lab sample preparation and packing, but it is a bench instrument, not a platform for pallets. Because the pan is removable, cleaning routines should include the pan, the surrounding housing and the rubber feet, and the scale should be dried and re-levelled after washdown before the next calibration check.

What to confirm before ordering

Care and use notes: the ABW-S is described as suitable for messy or dusty environments, and cleaning is simplified by the removable pan and sealed keypad. Operators can use the percentage weighing function for recipe batching, switch units between g, kg, lb, oz and lb:oz, and rely on the 1 second stabilisation time to speed repeated weighing. The scale auto-powers off to conserve its internal rechargeable battery, which Adam states runs for 55 hours, and an AC adapter is included.
