Brand:

Weflo Fig. F1318 UL Pressure Reducing Valve

Description

Pilot-operated pressure reducing valve for fire water systems

The Weflo Fig. F1318 is a UL 1739 listed pressure reducing valve with flanged ends. It takes a high inlet pressure from a fire pump or riser and delivers a lower, constant outlet pressure across a wide flow range, which protects hose connections, sprinklers and risers on the lower floors of tall buildings and in zoned fire water networks. The main valve is pilot-operated, so the set outlet pressure does not fall away as flow increases.

Regulation is stabilised even at near-zero flow, and opening and response speed can be adjusted. The outlet pressure is changed with a single adjusting screw on the pilot. Enamel paint or fusion bonded epoxy coating is applied inside and out.

Technical specifications

Values are from the Weflo Fig. F1318 FLxFL data sheet. The sheet states that 1.5 to 10 in. valves are UL listed.

Selection notes

Pick the pilot spring range that includes the required downstream pressure, and check that the inlet pressure never exceeds 300 psi. A reducing valve needs a minimum flow range and correct sizing for the largest hose or sprinkler demand, so the system designer should confirm sizing against the flow curves.

About brand

Fire protection contractors meet the Weflo name on gate valves, hydrants and check valves for sprinkler and hydrant mains. Weflo Valve is based in Qingdao, China, and makes industrial and fire protection valves. Seven Star LLC lists the Weflo Fig. 1209 flanged balancing valve and supplies Weflo valves for building services and fire water projects in Oman on inquiry.

Weflo valve families

The manufacturer program covers OS&Y and NRS gate valves, fire hydrants, check and alarm check valves, butterfly valves, deluge, pre-action, pressure relief and pressure reducing valves, Y and basket strainers, and air relief valves. Weflo states that its OS&Y and NRS gate valves are UL listed and FM approved through 24 inches. Products are identified by figure number, as with the Fig. 1209 balancing valve in our listing.

Ordering Weflo valves: what we need

Send the figure number, size, end connection and flange standard, pressure rating, the medium, and the listing or approval the project specification demands. Approvals apply per figure and size, so we check each line against the manufacturer datasheet. GCC civil defense requirements should be quoted in the request.
