Brand: Task Force Tips
Task Force Tips FJ-MX-FT MX-FoamJet ThunderFog Foam Attachment
Description
The Task Force Tips FJ-MX-FT is the MX-FoamJet multi-expansion air-aspirating attachment for 1.5 in and 2.5 in (38 mm and 65 mm) ThunderFog nozzles. Clipped onto the nozzle bumper, it draws air into the stream and turns the foam solution from an eductor or proportioner into finished foam, with the expansion ratio adjusted by simply moving the nozzle between fog and straight stream.
The flow range of 30 to 250 gpm (110 to 1100 L/min) matches that of the corresponding ThunderFog nozzle, which is required for operation. The attachment is built from UV-stabilized polyethylene and aluminum, measures 8.6 in (21.8 cm) in diameter and weighs 5.4 lb on the product page.

Foam concentrates and proportioning
The manual says the FoamJet series can be used with most concentrate types including protein, fluoroprotein, AFFF and alcohol-resistant AFFF. The foam must be proportioned into the water ahead of the nozzle by batch mixing, an eductor or direct injection, since the attachment only adds air. It also warns that some foams perform better than others with these devices and that finished foam expansion and drain time depend largely on the foam chemistry. For Class A foams the manual recommends products that meet USDA Forest Service 5100-307A or NFPA 1150.
Selection and ordering guide
The MX-FoamJet range includes FJ-MX-F for 1.5 in Twister nozzles, FJ-MX-DQ for 1 in QuadraFog, FJ-UMX for Ultimatic, FJ-MX-FQ for 1.5 in QuadraFog, FJ-MX-HM for Mid-Matic and Metro 1, FJ-MX-G for 1.5 in G-Force, FJ-HMX for handline nozzles and FJ-MX-MD for the Max-Force, Max-Matic and Max-Flow master-stream nozzles. FJ-MX-FT is specifically the ThunderFog version. Low-expansion FoamJet-LX units are different part numbers and are used with the nozzle in straight stream only, otherwise foam blows back through the air intakes.
Installation and operation notes
Check the nozzle bumper first: it must be free of nicks and abrasions so that it latches and seals to the attachment. Slide the bumper into the attachment with the levers unlocked and push the levers down. In use, rotating the bumper toward wide fog raises the expansion ratio and shortens the reach, and going back to straight stream does the opposite. Like all TFT nozzles, annual service testing per NFPA 1930 is required, and units that fail must be removed from service. The manual notes that foam agents and water additives can break down the factory silicone lubricant, so check nozzle movement regularly.
Applications in GCC industry
A multi-expansion attachment turns an ordinary ThunderFog line into a foam-making branch for vapor suppression on small hydrocarbon spills and Class A coverage in warehouses, with the foam supply provided by an eductor such as the UE-250-NJ or UE-125-NF on this site. Check local authority rules on the foam concentrate and discharge.
Installation and selection notes
The attachment works only with the matching ThunderFog nozzle and a foam solution supplied by an eductor or proportioner. Clip it on, set the nozzle between fog and straight stream to adjust the expansion and test the foam quality during the training before an actual use. Rinse it after use.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any hoses, couplings or accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, flows, pressures and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand
Task Force Tips is an American manufacturer of firefighting nozzles, monitors and water flow equipment, based in Valparaiso, Indiana. It was started in the early 1970s by firefighter Clyde McMillan, who sketched the first automatic nozzle in 1968; its spring-loaded baffle keeps nozzle pressure steady as flow changes. After his death in 1982, his son Stewart McMillan became president and renamed the company Task Force Tips.

FAQ
Questions about the Task Force Tips FJ-MX-FT MX-FoamJet ThunderFog Foam
Answers from our engineering team on installation, compatibility and integration.
01Which nozzles does the FJ-MX-FT fit?
It is the multi-expansion attachment for 1.5 in and 2.5 in ThunderFog nozzles; the nozzle is needed for it to operate.
02How is the expansion changed?
By rotating the nozzle bumper: toward wide fog gives more expansion and shorter reach, toward straight stream gives less expansion and longer reach.
03Does it include a proportioner?
No. The foam concentrate must be proportioned into the water before the nozzle, for example by an eductor.
04Does it fit older ThunderFog nozzles?
Fixed-teeth models made before 5/97 need a bumper upgrade, which the page says is free with purchase of FJ-MX-FT.
05What should I confirm before ordering?
Confirm the exact ThunderFog model, its flow setting and the foam concentrate in use, then request a quotation with the part number FJ-MX-FT.
