Brand:

Weldotherm 201308 Wraparound Heater for 10 inch Pipe

Description

A pre-formed heating collar for repeat preheat on one pipe size

The Weldotherm 201308 is a wraparound heater for 10 in pipe with 273.0 mm outside diameter. Ceramic heating segments are mounted in a hinged, perforated stainless-steel shell with a carrying handle and quick-release clasps, so the collar is opened, placed over the joint and closed in one movement. Weldotherm recommends wraparounds where the same pipe diameter is preheated and post-heated many times, because set-up is far quicker than wrapping and binding individual pads.

The heater is rated 60 V and 8.1 kW and is used for preheating and post-weld heat treatment of circumferential joints up to 950 °C material temperature.

Using wraparound heaters

Each wraparound connects to a heat treatment unit output of matching voltage; larger sizes contain several heating circuits, which is why power rises in 2.7 kW steps. Thermocouples are attached to the pipe within the heated band, and insulation is applied over the heater to hold temperature during soaking. Ceramic pad heaters remain the flexible choice for odd geometries such as branches and flanges.

About brand

WELDOTHERM Gesellschaft für Wärmetechnik mbH, based in Essen, Germany, manufactures equipment for the controlled heat treatment of welds and has worked in this field for more than 40 years. Its range covers resistance and induction heat treatment units, heating elements and related measuring equipment for site and workshop use. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat that lists the WR 10,5 inverter unit and sources Weldotherm equipment for preheating and post-weld heat treatment.

Weldotherm heat treatment units

The resistance range runs from the WR 10,5 inverter to the multi-channel STANDARD EUROPA and VAS series, the VAS offering up to 12 control circuits at 30 V and 60 V. The VAI series uses induction, generating heat in the material itself. Weldotherm also supplies the heating elements used with these units.

Ordering Weldotherm equipment: what we need

State the unit type, the number of control channels, the site mains voltage and the voltage class of the heating elements you already use. For heating elements, give the type, voltage and dimensions. We check the configuration against Weldotherm datasheets and provide them on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pipe size does the Weldotherm 201308 fit?
The manufacturer datasheet lists 201308 for 10 in, 273.0 mm OD pipe.
What is the power of the 201308 wraparound?
8.1 kW at 60 V, with a heater width of 189 mm.
What is the maximum temperature of Weldotherm wraparounds?
950 °C material temperature.
Which connector do Weldotherm wraparound heaters use?
DINSE plug-in system as standard; CAMLOCK on request.
When is a wraparound better than pad heaters?
When the same pipe diameter is preheated repeatedly, as set-up is much faster.
