EWM Taurus XQ 505 Synergic D Modular MIG/MAG Welding Machine

Description

Modular synergic MIG/MAG power source for production and site

The EWM Taurus XQ 505 Synergic D is the 500 A model of the modular Taurus XQ Synergic range. As a modular decompact machine, the power source is built as a compact module that can be carried, placed on a workshop or construction site trolley, combined with a cooling unit and connected to a separate Drive XQ wire feeder. EWM positions the modular casing for workstations in production as well as mobile use on site and in assembly.

The Taurus XQ Synergic process package contains rootArc XQ for root passes, forceArc XQ for a powerful arc with deep penetration, standard MIG/MAG short and spray arc, superPuls interval welding between two operating points, TIG, MMA and gouging. Pulse welding is not included; it is the main distinction from the Phoenix XQ puls modular machines of the same size.

Configuring a modular Taurus XQ set

EWM offers the Expert XQ 2.0, HP-XQ and LP-XQ controls for the Taurus XQ Synergic, either on the power source or only on the wire feeder. The LP-XQ is aimed at sites with changing welders: the operating point is set with one click wheel and favourites are stored. For water-cooled torches, the cool50-2 U40 module is mounted under the power source, and EWM lists the workshop trolly XQ 55-5 and the construction site trolly 35-6 as carriers.

Plan heavy continuous welding around the 370 A rating at 100% duty cycle. Where pulse MIG is needed for aluminium or stainless steel, choose the Phoenix XQ puls modular machine instead.

Because the module and the feeder are separate, the same power source can serve a fixed workstation with a short hose package and later be moved to site with a longer one. Machine accessories are compatible across the EWM XQ range, which simplifies spare torches, rolls and feeders in a mixed fleet.

About brand

EWM is a German manufacturer of arc welding equipment, founded in 1957 and headquartered in Mündersbach in the Westerwald region. Its range covers MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA power sources, welding torches, consumables and automation, supported by the ewm Xnet welding management software. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and lists the EWM Titan XQ 400 puls D multi-process MIG/MAG machine.

EWM product groups

The manual welding program includes the Titan XQ, Phoenix and Taurus MIG/MAG families, TIG and electrode machines, wire feeders and torches. EWM also offers cobot and robot welding systems, welding consumables and accessories. The headquarters houses research and development, production and quality assurance across three plants, with further factories in China and the Czech Republic.

Ordering EWM equipment: what we need

Give the full machine designation, including compact or decompact version and gas or water cooling, plus the mains voltage at site. List the wire feeder, interconnection hose package length, torch and any remote control you need. For a replacement unit, send a photo of the rating plate. We check the configuration against EWM documentation before quoting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does modular mean for the Taurus XQ 505 Synergic D?
The power source is a separate module that can be combined with a cooling unit, trolley and Drive XQ wire feeder as needed, instead of one fixed housing.
What is the duty cycle of the Taurus XQ 505 Synergic D?
EWM lists 500 A at 40%, 430 A at 60% and 370 A at 100% duty cycle at 40 °C.
Does the Taurus XQ Synergic weld pulse MIG?
No. Classic pulse welding is reserved for the Phoenix and Titan puls machines; the Taurus XQ Synergic offers rootArc XQ, forceArc XQ, standard MIG/MAG and superPuls.
Which mains supplies are listed?
3 x 400 V (-25% to +20%) or 3 x 480 V (-25% to +15%), 50/60 Hz.
Can it also weld TIG and MMA?
Yes. TIG, MMA and gouging are part of the Taurus XQ Synergic process list.
