Bently Nevada 149369-01 3500/25 Enhanced Keyphasor Module

Description

The front card that supplies Keyphasor timing to a 3500 rack

The 149369-01 is the Enhanced Keyphasor Module, the half-height main card of the Bently Nevada 3500/25 Keyphasor system. It accepts up to two signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups and turns them into digital Keyphasor signals, the once-per-turn or multiple-event-per-turn reference that the other 3500 monitors use for shaft speed and for vector values such as 1X amplitude and phase.

Bently Nevada lists 149369-01 as the spare main card for the 3500/25 and states that it completely replaces the earlier Keyphasor Module, PWA 125792-01. It keeps the same form, fit and function, so it can be ordered as a direct plug-in replacement in legacy racks. Enhanced functions include once-per-turn event generation from multi-event inputs, field-upgradeable firmware and asset management data reporting.

Fitting the module in a 3500 rack

The 149369-01 always works with a rear Keyphasor I/O module in the full-height slot behind it. The I/O module decides the field wiring: internal or external terminations, isolated inputs for magnetic pickups, or internal intrinsic-safety barriers. Each rack can take up to two half-height main modules in one slot position, one upper and one lower, and the half-height cards need the half-height mounting adapter when fitted in a full-height slot.

For Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) systems Bently Nevada specifies two Keyphasor modules working in parallel, so that a primary and a secondary Keyphasor signal reach the other modules. Paired configurations allow up to eight Keyphasor inputs in one rack with no more than four primary signals.

About brand

Since 1961 Bently Nevada, of Minden, Nevada, USA, has been closely tied to two things: the eddy current proximity probe and the rack-based machinery protection system. The 3500 rack is found on turbines and compressors in most large process plants.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier of Bently Nevada 3500 monitor modules, interface and communication modules, proximity probes, accelerometers and velocity transducers for operators in Oman and the GCC, with every item matched to the full part number.

Bently Nevada 3500 modules and transducers

The listed 3500 modules include the 3500/20 Rack Interface Module, the 3500/50M Tachometer, the 3500/61 Temperature and 3500/62 Process Variable monitors, the 3500/64M Dynamic Pressure monitor, the 3500/44M for aeroderivative gas turbines and the 3500/46M Hydro monitor. Reciprocating compressor monitoring is covered by the 3500/70M, 3500/72M and 3500/77M. The 3500/92 Communication Gateway and 3500/94M display link the rack to the control system. Transducers include the 3300 XL proximity probe system, the 330400 accelerometer and the 190501 Velomitor CT velocity transducer. The manufacturer's newer platform, Orbit 60, is offered as the modernization path for 3500 racks, and System 1 software handles diagnostics.

Where Bently Nevada vibration monitoring is used

Steam and gas turbines, generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, large pumps, hydro units and cooling tower fans in oil and gas, power generation, petrochemical and mining plants are the usual machines. Measurements include radial vibration, thrust position, speed, phase, differential expansion, bearing temperature, rod position and cylinder pressure.

Ordering Bently Nevada parts: what we need

Send the complete part number with every option field, for example 330103-00-05-10-01-00 for a probe or the 3500 module number with its option dashes, plus the matching I/O module number. For probe systems state probe series, system length and the hazardous area approval. A photo of the label avoids transcription errors, and for rack modules the firmware revision is useful.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bently Nevada 149369-01?
It is the 3500/25 Enhanced Keyphasor Module, the half-height main card that conditions up to two Keyphasor transducer signals for a 3500 rack.
Does 149369-01 replace 125792-01?
Yes. Bently Nevada states that the earlier Keyphasor Module PWA 125792-01 is completely replaced by 149369-01, which can be ordered as a direct plug-in replacement.
Which transducers can it accept?
Proximity probes and magnetic pickups. Passive magnetic pickups need a shaft speed above 200 rpm.
Is a rear I/O module included?
No. The 149369-01 is the front main card only; the Keyphasor I/O module for the rear slot is a separate part number.
What speed range does it measure?
Input frequency from 1 to 1,200,000 cpm (0.017 Hz to 20 kHz), including multiple events per revolution.
