WIKA 910.16 Instrument Mounting Bracket for Pressure Gauges

Description

WIKA 910.16 instrument mounting bracket for pointer pressure gauges

The WIKA 910.16 is an instrument mounting bracket for the stable mounting of pointer measuring instruments such as Bourdon tube pressure gauges. It follows DIN 16281 in two forms: form H for wall mounting and form A for wall, pipe or support mounting. Pipe mounting covers pipe diameters from 20 mm to 80 mm [0.79 to 3.15 in]. Materials are cast aluminium, welded stainless steel, hot dip galvanised malleable cast iron and electrogalvanised or silver-painted steel. Seven Star LLC supplies the 910.16 in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat, and this page explains the versions so that the right bracket and adapter combination is requested.

How the 910.16 holds the instrument

On the DIN 16281 versions the bracket head is a two-part clamp that grips an adapter piece. The adapter has a G 1/2 thread to EN 837 (G 1/2 or 1/2 NPT) that screws onto the pressure gauge connection, and it is clamped between the two halves of the bracket head. Once the head is tightened, the gauge is held rigidly and the line connection is relieved of the weight of the instrument. The other versions, without adapter piece, are suitable for instruments that have a square bar with 22 mm spanner width.

WIKA points out that all versions allow easy mounting and dismounting of measuring instruments with a permanently attached supply line, for example diaphragm seals with a capillary, after the bracket has been fixed in place. That is an advantage when the capillary cannot be turned, as the instrument can be fitted without twisting the line.

Bracket versions and order choices for the 910.16

  • Form H, aluminium or stainless steel: wall mounting in extensions of 60, 100 or 160 mm. The extension L sets how far the gauge projects from the wall, which matters when the gauge must clear lagging or a neighbouring pipe.
  • Form A, malleable cast iron: wall, pipe or support mounting with 100 mm extension, available without a clamp for pipe mounting or with the clamp included.
  • Pipe mounting bracket, steel: clamps to 20 … 80 mm pipes, 90° rotatable, with adapter piece or with square bar SW 22.
  • Adapter pieces: brass, steel and stainless steel in G 1/2, and stainless steel in 1/2 NPT, each weighing around 0.23 to 0.25 kg.

Weights range from 0.15 kg for the smallest aluminium bracket to 0.84 kg for form A in malleable cast iron, which suggests the mechanical capacity of each type: choose the cast iron and stainless versions for heavy or filled gauges and the aluminium version for lighter loads.

Where the 910.16 fits and related WIKA accessories

The bracket is used with Bourdon tube gauges, differential pressure gauges and diaphragm seal assemblies. The form B version of the shut-off valve 910.11 has a shaft for the mounting bracket, so valve and gauge can be carried by a single fixing. The 910.10 stopcock, 910.12 snubber and 910.15 syphon sit on the process side of the gauge and are carried by the connecting pipe. Where vibration is severe, use a filled gauge such as the 213.40 together with a rigid bracket, since the bracket keeps vibration from fatiguing the line fitting.

Selection and ordering checklist for the 910.16

  • Mounting surface: wall, pipe (diameter 20 … 80 mm) or support.
  • Form H or form A, and the required extension L.
  • Material according to environment: aluminium, stainless steel, malleable cast iron or steel.
  • With adapter piece (brass, steel, stainless steel, G 1/2 or 1/2 NPT) or without (square bar SW 22).
  • Weight and size of the instrument to be carried.
  • Powder coat or natural finish.
  • Quantity and, if needed, matching clamps.

Installation and maintenance of the 910.16

Fix the bracket first, with fasteners suitable for the wall or support, then fit the adapter piece to the gauge with a flat sealing ring and clamp the gauge into the bracket head. Use the 90 degree rotation of the pipe bracket to bring the dial into the reading direction. Tighten the head screws evenly. Because brackets are exposed to weather, inspect painted or galvanised surfaces at each shutdown; stainless steel versions need less attention in coastal air. Do not hang additional hoses or cables from the bracket, as the load can twist the gauge.

Typical applications in Oman and the GCC

In Oman and the Gulf the bracket is used on pump skids, compressor packages, header pipework and tank farm manifolds where a gauge must be placed away from the line to be readable and free of vibration. Stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium versions are favoured for coastal, humid and sand-laden outdoor sites.

About brand

WIKA is the German manufacturer of pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments, best known for its pressure gauges. Alexander Wiegand and Philipp Kachel founded it on 2 January 1946 in Klingenberg am Main, Bavaria. The name comes from the first two letters of their surnames. WIKA is still run by the Wiegand family and is headquartered in Klingenberg.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list WIKA pressure gauges, diaphragm seals, transmitters, switches, thermometers and thermowells, and supply them to plants, contractors and panel builders in Oman and the GCC by model and order code.

Temperature sensors and thermowells TR10, TR12-B, TR33, TC10-B, TW10 flanged, TW15 threaded RTD and thermocouple measurement in process lines

The WIKA model number tells you the build. In 232.50, the first digit 2 means stainless steel wetted parts, the second digit 3 means a liquid-fillable case, and ".50" is the case style. The 111 series uses copper alloy wetted parts and suits water and air. Where the medium is corrosive, very hot or would block the gauge, a diaphragm seal such as the 990.27 keeps it away from the Bourdon tube. For temperature, a thermowell like the TW10 lets you remove the sensor without opening the process.

Where WIKA instruments are used

In Oman and the GCC, WIKA gauges, transmitters and thermometers are used in oil and gas, refining and petrochemical plants, power and desalination, water networks, district cooling and HVAC, and on skids and machines from OEMs.

Ordering WIKA instruments: what we need

Send the model, dial size (for example 63, 100 or 160 mm), range and unit, connection size and position (lower or back mount), accuracy class and whether liquid filling is needed. For diaphragm seals and thermowells, add the process connection, materials and insertion length.
